Reviews: Similan Islands: Island hopping and snorkeling day tour

This trip was a major reason for our trip to Phuket, and it was also the Similan Islands, which we had been longing to visit for years. We looked at many tours, and overall it was quite good. First of all, the yacht was relatively small; the seats were narrower than the Capricorn. We were unlucky; they said there would be 10 guests the day before, but we had 30. 30 people was the full capacity; there wasn't a single empty seat. For a better experience, I personally think 15 people, at most 20, would be ideal. Our child was uncomfortable and lay down, so we were able to sit next to others for a while. But when it rained, we had to sit at the captain's feet 😓. The day before, we took a yacht to Racha Island, so we had a clear comparison. However, the service on this yacht was excellent, and the food was impeccable. The mango sticky rice and salmon were even better than those in a five-star hotel—the best Thai food I had during those days. The staff were incredibly attentive, providing butler-level service. They actively encouraged us to go snorkeling, and with the large number of people on the boat the day before, it felt like they wouldn't let us miss it. The Similan Islands are beautiful, and we saw sea turtles while snorkeling, which was very exciting. Perhaps due to the large influx of people into the Similan Islands, the water at the second snorkeling spot was quite murky. Most people probably went to the Similan and Phi Phi Islands, but I felt that snorkeling at Racha Island, aside from the absence of sea turtles, was a better experience than in the Similan. There was also a minor incident, which Ctrip handled perfectly.

The three of us girls hadn't slept much for two days when we went, and it was also our period. The weather was drizzling, the waves were huge, and it was freezing cold. Definitely bring a jacket! We were all wearing long sleeves, long pants, and socks, plus fleece-lined jackets and a large towel wrapped around ourselves, and we were still freezing. When the boat stopped, all three of us were seasick and felt like we wouldn't survive the day. We've been out to sea and fishing before, and the boat stops were never this bad! 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣 We were the only three Chinese people there, and we couldn't understand the local language. A tour guide, knowing we might not understand, came over and explained things to us. The service was good, and the food was okay, but we didn't dare drink a drop of water.

I had a wonderful time in Phuket. It was great value for money, the customer service was excellent, and they patiently answered all my questions. The tour guide spoke fluent Mandarin, was very funny, and provided detailed explanations throughout the trip. They even took many beautiful photos for us. The boat trip was also a great experience. Overall, it was a very satisfying trip, exceeding all expectations.

Guide Anan's service was excellent. The boat was originally for 32 people, but only 28 were actually seated, so there was plenty of space. Everyone could sleep when they got tired, and there were even drinks and desserts provided. This double-decker boat was slower than a speedboat, but much more comfortable. Highly recommended for families with children! My five-year-old swam every time we went snorkeling, while my mom sunbathed on the deck mats at the bow the whole time… The experience was fantastic, the service was excellent, and overall it was superb. By the way, my child rushed into the sea as soon as he saw it, and the life jacket I brought was a huge help. If you have young children and are worried, you can bring your own; the life jackets on the boat aren't allowed on the island, but you can rent them.

An excellent choice if you want precise organization and timing. As promised, we had three full meals, along with water and lemonade on the boat. The crew was friendly. The English-speaking guide, Toto, was a real hoot. Special thanks to the Russian-speaking guide, Ilya. We need more people like him who love their work!
