Why follow the crowds? Experience York in an intimate group of no more than 8 participants per guide. The Best of York is our most popular introduction to the city - 2000 years of history in ninety minutes from the arrival of the Romans to the birth of the KitKat.

This family-friendly walking tour features all the key sights, including the Minster, Shambles and the idyllic Museum Gardens. But we will also transport you deep into the medieval maze to reveal some hidden secrets few visitors get to see.

Adult: 16 years old and above
Child: 3–15 years old
Infant: 1–2 years old
How to use
Please arrive at the starting point 10 minutes ahead of the tour.
The guide will have a sign displaying the names of all participants (please do not join any tour that does not have your name displayed as it won't be ours!).
We never cancel tours on account of bad weather - if wet we will make use of sheltered spots.
The route is suitable for wheelchairs, strollers and mobility scooters.
Well-behaved pets are welcome!
Change & cancellation policies
If a cancellation request is submitted before 00:00, 1 day(s) prior to the date of use, no cancellation fee will be charged.
If a cancellation request is submitted after 00:00 1 day(s) before the date of use, a fee of 100% will be charged.
If a discount is applied, the cancellation fee will be calculated based on the original price before the discount and will not exceed the amount paid.
Partial refund is not available.
To change the date or time, please cancel your booking and book again.
