I booked a tour through Vietnam. I was the only Chinese person on the bus. The tour guide spoke in English, and I got the gist of it from a few words. The itinerary was a standard tour offered by the company, and Ha Long Bay was quite beautiful. The facilities on the boat were good, and the lunch buffet had a wide variety of choices. The service was also good. It was a shopping stop, but there was no pressure to shop.★

The one-night cruise in Ha Long Bay left a very warm and complete impression.
From the very beginning, the staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special mention goes to the guide: I have a habit of getting distracted and wandering off from the group, but he always managed to find me calmly and with humor. Because of this, the experience felt less like a standard tour and more like traveling with a friend — relaxed, friendly, and easygoing, with plenty of jokes and light conversation.
The cabin was clean, comfortable, and cozy, making it a pleasant place to rest after a full day. The food was also surprisingly good: tasty, well prepared, and nicely presented, without feeling like typical mass-tourism catering.
The only downside was the shopping stops along the way. I understand that this is part of the tourist business, but the selection of goods was very poor and uninteresting.★
