Reviews: Ferrari Museum, Lamborghini Pagani Museums & Factory+Lunch

We had a fantastic experience seeing Pagini, Ferrari and Lamborghini all in one day. The contrast between manufacturers and factories was fascinating. The guides at Pagini and Lamborghini were particularly good. We were chauffeured between sites in very comfortable people carriers. There was no way we could have done so much in one day without it. The lunch was amazing, we had some of the best pasta ever! The tour is well worth the price.

Food walks ... .the best way to explore the culture and local foods of a city and when the city is the food capital of the country you are in, it is a gastronomical roller coaster like no other. Bologna ... the food capital of Italy, provides something for all your senses while walking on the cobblestone streets, through bustling markets and checking out the local food shops, Osterias (drinking places) or Trattorias (family restaurants). Whether it was sampling the aged Balsamic Vinegar or tasting the famous Ragu from the Emilia Romagna region, the local wines or the artisnal shops serving one of the best Gelatos in the world, the Secret Food Tours took us to all these places and more, with a guide Gabrielle so well versed with alleys and what food we get where, for 3.5 hours we were constantly on the move, tasting meats, wine, cheese and pasta, topping it up in the end with the Best Gelato in the world. We learnt about DOP is a strict labeling of food products in Italy and other European countries to preserve and protect regionally produced foods from less superior versions. I could describe every place in detail, but that would be a long read, so leaving you with some satiating pictures and the knowledge we gained about this foodie city.

This tour was a great introduction to Old Bologna. Our tour operator shared so much history about this wonderful city. I was glad to start our visit with this tour.

My husband and I really enjoyed all aspects of this tour. The Ferrari museum in Modena has a lot of historical information on Enzo Ferrari’s journey to make the most competitive racing car. Allow approx 1.5hrs as there is so much to see. If you are a big racing fan you may wish to include the driving experience. The cheese factory was so interesting and very informative on the process of making Parmesan cheese. We were also shown the milking cows and their calves. The balsamic vinegar tasting and lunch was next with plenty of food and the tasting was interactive. Finally the Lamborghini museum showcasing sport cars, a modern SUV and 4WD. Value for money and highly recommend!
Reviews: Bologna: Food and Wine Tasting with Interactive Game

Massimo was a friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable guide, introducing me to several regional wines and pairings that truly complemented the tastes of both. I enjoyed getting to try smaller samples of wines I might never normally choose a whole bottle of, and the sommelier game taught me to pay much more attention to several different aspects of the wines so I could ultimately start to figure out what made me like a particular wine more than others. I really enjoyed this experience and the open, friendly atmosphere that encouraged me to ask questions and try new things.
