The tour was fantastic and Soren was an incredible guide giving us the history of the region before the war, how the war started and how Ypres became such a significant flashpoint in WW1. Before the tour even started, Soren messaged me a week prior asking if we had any relatives buried/ memorialised in any of the locations in Ypres. I told him we didn't but we had a member of our family who is memorialised in a village just outside of Arras in France. Despite not being connected to the Ypres tour experience, Soren was kind enough to still research into our relative and told us how he had won the military medal and the story of his regiment on the day he was killed. Soren even shared the war diaries. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience throughout the day. I cannot thank him enough and I thoroughly recommend him as a guide for the Ypres battlefields.

It was very informative. Took us to a German cemetary & Commonwealth Cemetaries, the statue of the Canadian soldier and Hill 60 which was quite moving for us as we are Australian. The visit to Ypres was also memorable especially the last post at 8pm. It was a very good day but very long.

This was a really fun experience and the perfect way to see the old centre of Lille. My guide/driver Rafi was very friendly and exceptionally informative so I learned a lot of really interesting facts as we passed all the sights. And it was nice to "go back in time" and travel in such an iconic French car. All in all, highly recommended!

Really recommend booking this up and doing it on your first day in Lille -great to get your bearings as well as learning some of the history of the area . Some great foodie recommendations too from our affable guide Louis . we thought we had seen most of Lille before taking this short trip but there were a few areas we'd completely missed on our own!


