Reviews: A City Tour Of Samarkand: The Pearl Of The East

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our guide, Laziz, for a fantastic tour of Samarkand! This wasn't just a standard tour, but a true historical immersion, full of vivid stories and discoveries. Laziz is not only a professional with deep knowledge, but also a passionate person who knows how to engage the entire group. His narrative is the perfect balance between proven facts and captivating legends that bring the ancient walls to life. We felt a connection between the centuries and the different cultures that have left their mark on Samarkand. I definitely recommend this tour and Laziz as a guide to anyone who wants not just to see, but to understand and feel the soul of ancient Samarkand.
Reviews: Tour From Samarkand To Tajikistan: Seven Lakes
Guest User2026-02-21
Fayoziddin was a professional and very responsible guy taking care of his guests well. He speaks fluent English and also an excellent storyteller explaning the history and the meaning of each lakes. It was an adventure where it is located deep inside countryside and most of in original state. For nature seekers, you will love the journey from the start towards the ends. At the border of Tajikistan, there will be an assigned driver waiting for you to pick you up. Akbar is a friendly Tajik, although we communicate with app translator. My small token of advice probably, if the tour can make a group WhatsApp between the guest, Tajik driver, Uzbek driver and lead tour guide so that there's no communication breakdown in between and essential updates through WhatsApp such which vehicle (plate number etc) will pick up the guest, so there's no confusion and illegal taxi drivers at the border gate can be totally ignored. But I would still take another trip with Fayoziddin if I'm returning back.

This was a great day trip. Since it is less famous than Seven Lakes, the guide will change the locations to suit the participants. Highly recommend.
Reviews: Samarkand One Day Tour - Departure From Tashkent

My day trip to Samarkand was seamless from start to finish. Everything was extremely well organised - from collecting me at my hotel, getting me onto the train, to meeting me again on my return to Tashkent. I accidentally exited from a different entrance at the Tashkent station, but the driver remained calm, patient, and went out of his way to locate me and ensure I got safely back to my hotel. That level of care made a real difference. In Samarkand, my guide Mokhigul was outstanding: knowledgeable, friendly, curious, and incredibly generous with her insights. We exchanged reflections on cultural influences, and she intuitively gave me space to explore some of the city’s most spiritual and awe-inspiring sites on my own, which I truly appreciated. The local food was delicious, and everywhere we went, people were warm, welcoming, and curious. My guide also kindly helped me negotiate at the local market in Samarkand - a small gesture that made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this team. They made my first trip to Uzbekistan not only smooth and stress-free, but truly memorable and inspiring.

We enjoyed this tour! Mr. Yusufjon, our driver, kindly stopped at scenic point and waited for us. Not only Shahrisabz but the scenery along the way was very beautiful! The cheese I bought at the market on the way is also good. We recommend this tour if you have time in Samarkand!
