Reviews: Noboribetsu Hell Valley, Lake Toya & Showa Shinzan One-Day Tour [Guaranteed Departure for One Person]
Guest User2025-11-18
I joined the tour on November 15th. The bus was almost full, with people from many different countries in the group, but it was always our compatriots who were late. Sigh. Our tour guide, Vivi, was very good. She had to speak the exact same thing in three languages, which must have been quite tiring. The stops at each attraction were short. It was pretty much a quick visit, but there was no other way, as it was too far and time was tight. The weather was so-so this time, mostly overcast, but during a brief break in the sunshine, I saw half of Mount Yotei and immediately took a picture.

Our tour guide, Andy, was friendly and helpful, and his itinerary was engaging. He provided helpful reminders for each member of the group upon boarding and disembarking, such as meeting times and must-eat and must-buy items. The entire trip was very relaxing and offered great value for money. Highly recommended for those who don't have a car. Private transportation saved us time and money. The bus was comfortable, and the driver's skills were excellent. Especially recommended for families with children, as it eliminates the hassle of transportation.
Reviews: Sapporo 1-day tour | Hill of the Buddha · Jozankei Onsen · Seafood Market · Mount Moiwa, Hokkaido

First Stop: Jozankei Onsen ♨ As Hokkaido's most famous hot spring resort, Jozankei is not far from Sapporo and is known as "Sapporo's backyard." It has a deep connection with the "Kappa" legend, with adorable Kappa elements everywhere, even on manhole covers! Unfortunately, we only had an hour this time, just enough for a quick photo op and a free foot bath! Although comfortable, I recommend staying overnight if you have the time to truly relax in the hot springs. Second Stop: Great Buddha Head Tadao Ando's design is absolutely brilliant! The originally solitary Great Buddha was completely "hidden" by a circular hill covered in lavender, with only the Buddha's head visible. The visit is like a ritual: first, you walk across the water, then enter a dark, winding tunnel, and finally, suddenly, you look up to see the Great Buddha solemnly appearing under the sky—the awe is something you have to experience to understand. It's very photogenic and has a Zen-like atmosphere. Third Stop: Hokkaido Shrine This shrine was built during the pioneering period and has a long history. However, if you've already visited many shrines in Japan, this one might not offer many surprises. The grounds aren't very large, and buying amulets is up to you. However, the Rokkatei outside the shrine is worth a try; it's a comfortable place to relax and enjoy some sweets. Fourth Stop: Shiroi Koibito (White Lover) Factory While called a factory, it's more like a fairytale-themed park. You can watch the cookie production line, try DIY, and take great photos. It's also suitable for families with children. However, frankly, if you're not particularly interested in dessert making, you might find it a bit commercialized. Also, you can buy Shiroi Koibito cookies at the airport, so you don't necessarily need to buy them here. Fifth Stop: Sapporo Beer Museum If you like beer, this is definitely worth a visit! The red brick building has a lot of character, and you can learn about beer history. Most importantly—you can drink Sapporo draft beer! We tried two glasses; the taste was fresh and smooth, and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. It's a great place to end the day with a light buzz. Overall, this day trip itinerary is perfect for tourists like myself who are visiting Hokkaido for the first time and are unfamiliar with everything. Each of the attractions is representative, and visiting them all in one trip provides a vivid first impression of Hokkaido's culture and history. Traveling with a car also saves you the trouble of figuring out transportation yourself, making it convenient and hassle-free. As for whether each attraction is "fun," that's truly a matter of personal opinion—isn't that what travel is all about? Visiting places others are used to, taking photos in unfamiliar surroundings, and wandering around freely is itself an interesting experience.
Reviews: Hokkaido Sapporo Classic Day Tour: Jozankei Onsen + Hill of the Buddha + Shrine + Shiroi Koibito Park

Overall, it was a good experience. The tour guide was professional, polite, and spoke Chinese, English, and Japanese. The only downside was that the time was too rushed. We hardly spent more than an hour at any one attraction, and there were many places we didn't have time to appreciate before having to get back on the bus. This itinerary is more suitable for people who like to quickly check off multiple attractions and take photos. It's not suitable for people who prefer to take their time to appreciate things.
Reviews: Hokkaido Winter Classic 1-day Tour: Asahiyama Zoo + Shirahige Waterfall + Shirogane Blue Pond (Aoiike) + Forest Elf Terrace
Guest User2025-12-18
The animals at Asahikawa Zoo were very close to humans, which was a good experience. The Forest Elf Terrace was beautiful, but our tour guide, Xiaoyu, provided very poor service. The parking lot for the Forest Elf Terrace was huge, and the cars were parked very far apart. After getting off the bus, she didn't wait for all the passengers behind to get off before leading the group out, causing us to search for the exit for over 10 minutes. The entire tour was only allotted half an hour, and it took her more than ten minutes just to get from the parking lot to the exit. When we returned, we couldn't find our car and called to say we were late. Her attitude was extremely rude; it felt like she was in a hurry to leave work, didn't want to be delayed, and didn't want to guide us. Her service level needs improvement. Before we got off the bus, she asked everyone to give her a five-star review, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Our tour guide, Xiaoyu, was so nice!! During the bus trip, we learned a lot about Hokkaido's history, which was very interesting! She also gave detailed introductions to Hokkaido's highlights and recommended routes, especially the zoo! We were so lucky to get incredibly close to the penguins first!!! The overall tour was amazing, with all the attractions being incredibly beautiful 🩵 Perfect for travelers from Sapporo who can't drive but want to see distant sights!! I have so many wonderful memories!
