We bought a global e-SIM with 1GB per day (enough for instant messaging and Google Maps for two users, as it shares data). Our goal is to travel across four countries. We've traveled through two countries so far, and everything works fine. Initially, we had to manually configure the e-SIM because the hotspot for data tethering wasn't working. But it turned out to be easy to configure; the instructions given upon purchase were sufficient. So far, we're very happy.★

During a two-week trip to Portugal, I decided to try an eSIM and ordered it directly through Trip.com. The process was simpler than I expected: after payment, I immediately received a QR code via email, and the Trip.com app clearly explained how to add the profile to my iPhone. Very friendly family run Homestay , close to walking street and the room is clean , walk thru alley and no cars pass by but accessible with motorcycle
