I arrived earlier than scheduled, but was able to catch the bus just before the one I booked! The bus was easy to understand and on time, which was great.
Reviews: Colosseum Underground & Ancient Rome Guided Tour
Guest User2026-02-11
Our guide, Mya, was absolutely brilliant! From beginning to end her enthusiasm for the Colosseum was infectious. She was not only knowledgeable but she brought the arena alive with her descriptions. Walking where the gladiators used to was truly spine tingling. The palatine hill and Roman forum was also great. It was our last tour before we headed home and it was a fantastic way to finish a very memorable holiday. Highly recommend this tour
Reviews: Colosseum Arena Floor, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill Tour

A fantastic Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and Colosseum Arena tour, led by the wonderful Laura. Our group was a perfect size (11 people), and Laura’s passion, knowledge, and genuine love for Roman history really shone through. After meeting near the Crown Tours office and grabbing a refreshing coffee and sandwich at Café Polveriera, we headed to the Forum and Palatine Hill, where Laura truly brought ancient Rome to life — you could almost picture the traders and daily bustle of the city. A short walk took us to the Colosseum, and being part of a small group meant skipping the long queues with only a short wait to enter. A quick reminder: photo ID is essential — no ID, no entry — and there are multiple security checks, but once inside the arena it’s absolutely worth it. Standing so close really brings home how impressive (and terrifying) it must have been. A brilliant tour and well worth paying a little extra for a small group and such an exceptional guide.
