This highly recommended private tour of Kolkata offers a truly enriching and memorable experience, with Muzaffar as an absolutely fantastic guide. Guide and Experience Muzaffar is an extremely knowledgeable guide, articulate and passionate about the history, culture, and details of Kolkata and India in general. He answered all our probably weird questions, making the entire experience engaging and fun. We learned a significant amount about the city and we would not have been able to set up such a tour by ourselves. Muzaffar provides an exceptional service and is nice, kind, friendly, and very flexible, easily adjusting the tour to our personal preferences and requests. The driver is also to praise for navigating the Kolkata traffic. Tour Highlights The tour hits all the main sites but can be customized. This is what we visited: We started by a memorable and humbling visite at Mother Teresa house museum and tomb. Our guide also took us to three Jain temples in Kolkata (Dadabari and Mahavira Temple), spread over three complexes. We then went to New Market, a massive olf covered market where you can find everything from needle to diamond. Quite an experience. We bought some spices and tea. We visited the old english district with massive buildings and later the park around Victoria Memorial (opted for not going inside) and St Paul's Cathedral. The Flower Market was quite an authentic experience with Muzaffar guiding us through the narrow streets below the Howrah Bridge. The peaceful visit to the "potter's district in Kumartuli to see amazing clay sculptures being created for the festivals and learning about it was for me the highlight. We also went to College Street for coffee and snacks at the Indian Coffee House and were gifted a poetry book by Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel prize of litterature. Value This private tour is really the most effective way to see the city. The high quality of the experience, especially with Muzaffar, will save you time and headache if this is your first time in India and a little apprehensive to discover such a big city.

Had wonderful day touring the sites and sounds of Kolkata. Wonderfully organised by the excellent Subrata we were taken form temples to Mother Teresa’s House ( so inspirational) to colonial sites and the colours of Kolkatas streets. Had excellent vegetarian meal and capped by coffee at Indian Coffee House. Brilliant day. Subrata was informative, clear and so calm- willing to flow with what we wanted to do and see

Saha provided a great tour for our group of nine people! We got picked up straight from our hotel, and were driven around in very clean and comfortable cars. The tour was expansive and we got to see most of the main sights of the city, while learning about the interesting and extensive history of each spot. Saha was very knowledgeable and was very good at articulating the stories of Calcutta, and kept us engaged throughout. The pace was also good - not spending too much time anywhere while not being hurried either. Had a nice picnic, with time for lunch built in as well. Overall, it was an amazing time and I would recommend to anyone who wants to see and learn about the city.

My husband and I did this tour on our first day in Kolkata and both agreed it was the best walking tour we had ever experienced (and we travel a lot!). Muzaffar was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and very good company and had impecable English. The stops on the tour took in the city’s rich history and modern day Kolkata life and was the perfect start to our stay in this city which we have already fallen in love with! Kaushik is an excellent tour guide - extremely knowledgeable about many facets of India and Kolkata’s history, culture and religious traditions; warm; a good communicator; punctual; organised but also flexible. He made our party feel very comfortable. We spent almost 8 hours in his company but it flew by. Highly recommended - and take the tour as soon as you arrive, as we did, as it really helps you get your bearings.


