The painting teacher and the school headmaster were both exceptionally kind and attentive—genuinely caring hosts who guided us with great patience. A fluent English-speaking interpreter was present the entire time and assisted with everything, including arranging transport. She also shared fascinating insights into local customs and everyday life in China. The result was a deeply authentic, hands-on experience that felt personal and thoughtfully curated rather than touristy. Three of us went to the Batik class today (Mum, Dad and daughter 9yrs old). The tutors couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were shown the process, given practice materials and then we started our own creation (templates available). We have come away with 3 pieces we are really happy with, the tutors really help to make sure you make something worthwhile. Our daughter would go back tomorrow, and probably the next day too! A great way to spend relaxing time in Bali. Highly recommend it.
