The centre is like any important capital: very moving, many tourist shops high prices ... great offer to eat. In some areas of the city, cleaning is not very well-treated, but on the other hand, there are really many, and especially many, unsuitable and careless tourists.
A cosmopolitan city.
Public resources are also important for excursions outside towns in tourist areas.
It is good that it is almost everywhere only using credit card. Limited cash use. Some of our traders should learn.
You don't go to Amsterdam to enjoy food because you don't eat very well.
If you have good legs and comfortable sneakers, you'd better visit the city walking.
The bike is also preferable.
It is worth taking an excursion (in max half an hour from Amsterdam Central station you get) to

I’d definitely recommend going here if you are planning on visiting the red light district. Doesn’t take too long but definitely interesting and the confessions wall at the end is hilarious and moving at the same time★

Loved it. I love history so getting to learnt about how rembrandt came to be was cool. They give you an audio machine which tells you about each of the rooms. One downside is there are a lot of steps so only go if you can go up. Also the audio gets confusing as the rooms don't align.
Would go again as there is a lot of information to take in.
