🌳 3 Must-Do Things at Amanohashidate
1️⃣ Climb to the top of "Umbrella Pine Park" for a bird's-eye view of the sandbar
→ Take the cable car to the top (round trip ¥720), and take a "reverse Fuji" composition from the viewpoint overlooking the sea.
→ Hidden spot: The west side of the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a stunning view of the sandbar and the Aso Sea side-by-side!
2️⃣ Walk barefoot on the "Natural White Sand Beach"
→ Take off your shoes and walk on 2km of pure white sand. The seawater washing over your ankles at high tide is incredibly soothing.
→ Rent a bicycle (¥500/hour) and chase seagulls along the sandbar, feeling the shape of the wind.
3️⃣ Visit "Chieunji Temple" for amulets
→ Vermilion torii gates paired with century-old pine trees; seek amulets for academic success/marriage (from ¥800).
→ Touch the "Manjushri Wisdom Wheel" and spin it three times; legend says it will make you smarter!★

Overall, it was a satisfying trip.
Our guide, Gumun-gil, explained the history and culture of each location in an easy-to-understand way, allowing us to enjoy the trip in a much deeper way than simply seeing the sights.
The route was also efficient, allowing us to conveniently visit multiple attractions without wasting time.
Our guide, Gumun-gil, was also friendly and informative, creating a relaxed atmosphere throughout the trip. He even pointed out photo spots and hidden gems, making our time much more enriching than traveling alone.

All three attractions are hidden in the mountains or suburbs, and it would have been really difficult to get around by public transportation. The itinerary was scientifically and reasonably planned, ensuring a wealth of sightseeing content while maintaining just the right pace, making the trip relaxing and enjoyable. A special highlight was the ride on the unique cat-shaped tram – its adorable design was a delightful surprise. The coastal scenery along the way was breathtaking, with the azure sea and sky a truly invigorating experience. The seafood and other local delicacies at the market were unforgettable, fresh and delicious. The best part of the entire trip was our guide, Mr. Zhao, whose detailed explanations and numerous entertaining anecdotes made the whole journey both fulfilling and joyful – definitely worth recommending!★
