Reviews: Transnistria Tour from Chisinau Explore Soviet Time Capsule

It was a very unique tour and Marcel was a very experienced and fun superhost! It was a small group tour, with great company, Marcel made sure that he leads a way to form us a co-traveler group! We have seen and heard so lot about the historical times and the background of all around, and visited so lot just in a couple of hours. We had a really tasty lunch too, in the canteen. Borsch is highly recommended. We were very luck to see the fortress too, as Marcel thankfully knew when to go there, just before the closure before the festival. Important to mention: this is one of the few really 'zero scam' tour. You get what you paid for and even more and no stress to buy anything (such as honey which would anyways be just confiscated at the airport...), neither at the market. People were very friendly, allover, there too.

Our tour guide/ driver was Ekaterina, and we were lucky enough to have a Mercedes E class for our day excursion. Ekaterina is a lively, bubbly tour guide full of facts and information. Our excursion departed on time (despite the dreadful rain) with an easy journey to the border. Once out of Chisinau and past the airport there is very little traffic. At the border, do make sure you have your passports ready for the border guards, who are not the friendliest of people. Ekaterina knows them all, and our border stop was quickly dealt with. Despite the heavy rain we visited many of the important sights in Bender and Tiraspol including the fort, war memorials, the MIG jet fighter, eternal flame, old railway station museum etc. Lunch was held at the restaurant "back in the USSR" and was very reasonable in price. The Borscht soup was one of the best. Rain eased up for the afternoon and we had great walk in the park etc. Little extras we enjoyed was a wander round the big supermarket, stopping at the bus stop (with mosaics) just before the border, and talking to the wonderful folk at the steam train/carriages museum. We did run late for our return, but this was because Ekaterina wanted us to get the best out of our day, which was slowed up by the weather and the fact one of us walks slowly on a walking stick. Well done to Ekaterina for being kind and considerate. This tour is popular and well worth doing - especially privately where you have a tour guide just for yourselves. It was a day to remember
Reviews: Milestii Mici Underground Winery Tour INCLUDING Wine tasting
Guest User2025-10-07
The Milesti Mici underground winery tour was truly spectacular! The sight of countless wine barrels lined up in an underground tunnel that was over 200km long made me feel like I had wandered into a wine kingdom. The guide was very attentive and gave a fun explanation of the history of winemaking and the unique characteristics of Moldova. At the end of the tour, we had a leisurely tasting of white, red, and dessert wines. This is a spot you definitely cannot miss if you visit Moldova.

The tour was well-organized and informative. My family and I had a great time learning about the PMR and its history from different viewpoints. Lunch was tasty. Highly recommend our tour guide, Tatiana, to people who would like to travel to the PMR. She is well-knowledged and friendly.

Very nice tour perfectly organized by Moldova tours. The wine caves are very impressive. The tour to Old Orheï gives a good view of Moldova landscape and cultural patrimony. The guide was very friendly and rich in explanations. I recommend.
