1. Badaling Great Wall
The Badaling Great Wall is renowned as one of the nine most formidable passes in the world, blending majestic peril with lush beauty, representing the finest scenery of the Ming Great Wall. "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true hero" - many Chinese consider this section as their primary choice for experiencing the Great Wall.
The Badaling Great Wall's fortress is trapezoidal in shape, narrower on the east side and wider on the west, with two gates: east and west. The east gate bears the inscription "Juyong Outer Town," while the west gate is inscribed "Northern Gate Key." The section of the Great Wall extending north from the fortress is the North Wall, featuring 12 watchtowers. To the south of the fortress lies the South Wall, with 7 watchtowers. The South Wall typically has fewer visitors compared to the North Wall. If time permits, it's recommended to explore the South Wall first before heading to the North Wall.
Cable cars are available at the South 4th Tower and North 8th Tower. Visitors who prefer not to walk can take the cable car directly to the watchtower and return via the same route after their visit, saving energy for a more relaxed experience.
In addition to accessing the Great Wall at the Pass City, there are also entry points at South Tower 4, North Tower 4, North Tower 8, and North Tower 11, all of which allow you to ascend the Great Wall.
Among them, North Tower 8 is the highest watchtower on the Badaling Great Wall in terms of altitude, also known as the "Sunrise Viewing Platform." Located over 1,500 meters from the Pass City, it offers an excellent vantage point for overlooking the Great Wall.
2. Bird's Nest Stadium
The Bird's Nest (National Stadium-Bird's Nest) is located at the northern end of Beijing's central axis. As the main stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, it has become one of the city's new landmarks in recent years, renowned for its grand architectural design and the numerous international competitions hosted there.

The unique exterior features an interwoven steel structure resembling tree branches, forming the iconic "Bird's Nest" shape. Its undulating curved lines give the stadium a dynamic, lifelike appearance, creating a visually striking architectural form. The former Auspicious Cloud Torch Tower, originally located atop the Bird's Nest, has been relocated to the Torch Plaza on the northeast side of the stadium, where it remains visible from outside the venue.
