Mount Huaguo is the source of "Journey to the West", one of the four Chinese literary classics, and is known as "the hometown of the Monkey King". It has tremendous value for viewing, sightseeing and historical research. The natural landscape of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit offers a magnificent spectacle full of mountains and waters and corresponding views of imposing heights and vast openness. If you mount the Yunufeng peak, you can see a beautiful sea of clouds. The exposed peaks look like a Paradise Island in the sea. Lianyun Old Street

Lianyun Old Street, also known as Lianyun Old Town, was originally a small fishing village called "Laoyao" at the foot of Yuntai Mountain. The port was built here in 1933, and it was named "Lianyun" after the first characters of Liandao and Yuntai Mountain. Since then, the small fishing village gradually developed into a port town between the mountains and the sea. Today, a black iron gate with the year "1933" still stands at the entrance of the district. The old street has its back to the mountains and faces the sea, with bluestone roads and stone houses spreading along the mountain terrain. It preserves a large area of modern architecture. The port city landscape, where mountains, sea, stone, and city reflect each other, is unique. It is known as one of the four old streets of Lianyungang, along with Haizhou Ancient City, the Old Street of Minzhu Road, and Nancheng Six Dynasties Street. The highlight of visiting the old street is seeing the old buildings and exploring the museums. The Old Street History and Culture Museum at the entrance organizes the past and present of the old street with the concept of a "city memory bank," making it a suitable place to start your itinerary. The Longhai Railway History Museum is located at the former site of the old Lianyun Railway Station, which is the eastern starting point of the Longhai Railway. This Western-style flat-roofed building, designed by the Dutch and featuring a clock tower, looks like a ship docked at the shore from a distance. Inside, old photos and artifacts tell the story of the Longhai Railway, from its construction in sections during the late Qing Dynasty to its full completion after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The station square also displays real locomotives from the steam, diesel, and electric eras. The Folk Crafts Museum is located at the former site of the Lianyun City Farmers' Bank, which locals usually call the "Zhu Family Courtyard." Intangible cultural heritage crafts such as dough sculpture, root carving, gourd pyrography, paper cutting, and mother-of-pearl inlay can be seen here. The Guochengli modern architectural complex consists of Shikumen-style residences that blend Chinese and Western elements. Four three-sided courtyards face each other in pairs, with courtyards within courtyards. They were originally the residences of key officials and main staff during the early days of the port's construction. Lianyun Old Streetis best explored at a leisurely pace. The stone walls, stone alleys, and modern facades are very photogenic. If you follow the alleys to higher ground, you can also see the port and the sea below the mountain. The main attractions are concentrated in a few streets and alleys. Exploring the streets while visiting the museums, setting aside half a day will allow for a relaxed visit.Lianyungang · 26 km from downtown

Yangshan Island is located on the shores of the Yellow Sea, next to Gaogong Island in Lianyun District, Lianyungang. The island is also known as Yangshan Island, named after a legend that a golden sheep was hidden in the belly of the mountain in ancient times. The island is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side, with the Yuntai Mountains to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east. It features rare rocky marine erosion landforms in Jiangsu, with a rocky coastline shaped by years of tidal erosion. When the tide recedes, the mudflats are exposed, making it a great place for beachcombing and collecting shells. The island's attractions are concentrated along the mountain road after entering the island: the Yangshan Island Museum features exhibition halls such as Yangshan Culture, Spirits of the Sea, Marine Erosion Wonders, Yellow Sea Fishing Songs, and Nori Town, presenting the island's history, marine ecology, and fishing village life. Walking up the steps along the street, you can see the massive Xihe Bathing in the Sun sculpture and the Xihe Palace. Xihe is the mother of the sun in mythology, and local legend says she bathed in the sun in these waters, which is why the island is known as the Island of the Sun God. Watching the red sun rise from the sea horizon has become a reason for many tourists to make a special trip to the island. The coastal boardwalk around the island extends along the reefs, connecting the lighthouse, the rainbow dam, and rows of colorful container buildings. Standing at the bridge viewing platform and looking out, you can also see the cross-sea bridge lying across the blue waves, connecting the island to the mainland. The island is not highly developed, but its appeal lies in its quiet, pristine nature. Watching the sunrise and sunset, feeling the sea breeze, and beachcombing make for a perfect half-day leisurely tour.Lianyungang · 26.8 km from downtown

The ancient city was built in the 11th year of Emperor Wu's Tianjian in the Liang Dynasty and the 16th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty. Taohua Jian is located in the southern part of the Jinping Mountain. It is named because there are peach blossoms in spring all over there. There are both tall and straight trees and bare stones on the mountain, which feels like Chinese painting. There is not only a beautiful natural landscape, but also a great number of historic sites, such as the Neolithic site in Taohua Jian, the Neolithic Site in Erjian Village and the Shang Zhou Site in Jiulongkou.Lianyungang · 10 km from downtown

The visit to the park was very pleasant. We saw a group of monkeys, played games to earn silver coins to exchange for small gifts, and the gifts were quite nice. The Water Curtain Cave featured several segments on display, which were quite interesting. After spending most of the day there, it was definitely worth the price.

I feel that Huaguo Mountain Scenic Area only became famous because of "Journey to the West". The scenery of the lake and mountains is nothing special, and there are quite a lot of tourists. Overall, it's just average.

On a weekend in late October, it wasn't too crowded. The scenic area is quite large. Besides the panoramic views of mountains, sea, islands, city, and harbor from the summit, there are also two other nice attractions along the way: Wudao Temple and Faqi Temple. There are sightseeing buses available within the scenic area, running from the foot of the mountain to the summit, stopping at two attractions along the way. The buses run approximately every 20 to 30 minutes, which is quite convenient.

The main attractions are the natural landscape, with Laolongtan Waterfall and Canglong Cave being the core sights, making it perfect for families with children to enjoy water activities. The downsides are that the scenery is significantly diminished during the dry season due to low water levels, and the stone paths are slippery, so caution is advised. Summer night tours also feature performances such as iron flower displays.

Walking on the road of moving forward courageously, there are sadness and excitement. Every time when I feel sad, I look at the sea alone, and always think of my friends walking on the road; how many are waking up, let's drink this glass of wine; a good man's heart is like the sea, and he has experienced the ups and downs of life; this smile is warm and innocent. Watching the sea does make people feel good, and the seaside will not make people darker. Darkness is because you don't do a good job of sun protection. Bring the sunscreen spray in time! ! ! ! The sun is a kind of hope and a symbol of daytime. Cherish the brilliance of the sun every day and light up a progressive life.

The Yanhexiang Historical and Cultural District in the urban area of Lianyungang is worth a visit. The experience is very good. It takes at least one to two hours to walk around. There are many snacks. It is very nice to stroll along the river and enjoy the night view. If you come to Lianyungang for one night or half a day, it is highly recommended to visit Yanhexiang for a walk and eat.

I found it online. The place is a little off-center. There are not many facilities around. There are few people during the festival. The scenery is also good. There are mountains and streams. The wild actors in the festival are very hard-working. It is worth recommending as a holiday off-peak attraction.
