Our tour guide Kirsty was amazing, funny and made sure the rain didn’t dull the fun! It’s a walking tour at places related to JK Rowling’s time in Edinburgh. There are no spots in the city where Harry Potter was filmed so just be aware of that. All in all a great tour! If you’re a whisky connoisseur, definitely book the underground whiskey tasting as part of the tour. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Overall it is definitely not cheap, but you can travel on trains around Europe as many times as you want during the period, flexible and convenient, especially for last minute travelers. Keep in mind in countries like Spain, Italy and France, the reservation fee is expensive and can add up quickly, so you need to plan ahead. Also, in most countries, the app cannot be used in the tickets gates automatically, and must seek help from staff. Hope they can improve it.

Our driver was very helpful when we first boarded. I needed a charging cable & he told me where on our route I could hop off to get one on our way to the castle. Very cordial, friendly and welcoming. From the young folk that sell the tickets to the ones that drive you around. Overall a very clean, comfortable ride. They provide headphones for the audio on board in several languages for all visitors.


