The Xuanquanzhi site is a small square castle with its gate facing east and surrounded by tall walls with a side length of about 50 meters. A corner tower protruding from the dock is set up in the southwest corner. The dock wall is built with adobe bricks with a length, width and thickness of about 40, 20 and 11 cm. Inside the dock, there are three groups of 12 bungalows with adobe walls from different periods (including one suite) built on the west and north walls, which are accommodation areas; the east and north sides are office buildings; there are three stables in the southwest corner and the north; and a group of three stables about 50 meters long and facing north and south is built in the southwest of the dock. Xuanquanzhi is known as a major new discovery in the 1990s. Xuanquanzhi is equivalent to the post station in later generations. Archaeological excavations have proved that in the same year (101 BC) when Li Guangli conquered Dayuan and obtained the Ferghana horse, the Western Han Dynasty established an important institution in Xuanquan to deliver official documents and mails and receive passing officials and envoys. This Han Dynasty site was discovered in 1987. Since 1990, the cultural relics and archaeological experts organized by the cultural relics management department of Gansu Province have carried out a two-year excavation work on it, which has achieved remarkable results and caused a sensation in the academic community. More than 20 pieces of hemp paper with Chinese ink unearthed from Xuanquanzhi have been identified as Han paper. This discovery pushed the time of the invention of paper in my country back by nearly a century, overturning the conclusion of Cai Lun's papermaking theory. It is the earliest paper discovered at home and abroad so far. The number of Han bamboo slips unearthed from Xuanquanzhi is astonishing, totaling more than 15,000 pieces. Its content is very rich, including imperial edicts, judicial laws and decrees, post station books, cultural technology and other miscellaneous matters. The connotation has expanded from the simple border garrison in the "Flowing Sand Falling Bamboo Slips" to border county administrative affairs, postal business, exchanges with the Western Regions, and trade activities. Other relics unearthed from Xuanquanzhi are also quite precious and of various types, including various agricultural tools, currency and weapons, pottery and clothing, grains, stone inkstones and brushes. Although these relics have gone through thousands of years, they are still well preserved. For example, the silk family letters are completely readable, the lacquer chopsticks are exactly the same as those used now, the lacquer ear cups are colorful, and several pairs of leather shoes with fully opened uppers and soles trace the history of domestic leather shoe production and wearing back thousands of years. Reminder: For the sake of protection, the Xuanquanzhi site has now been backfilled.Dunhuang · 57.9 km from downtown

Dunhuang has a large desert area and a large usable area. The desert Gobi area suitable for the construction of large-scale photovoltaic grid-connected power stations is about 3,500 square kilometers, with a potential installed capacity of 120 million kilowatts. The optoelectronic industry has great development potential. On the Gobi Desert north of National Highway 215, the local optoelectronic industrial park has developed into a tourist attraction on the west line. The unique natural conditions make Dunhuang a place for the development of the domestic optoelectronic industry, with a total planned area of 254 square kilometers. Dunhuang's climate conditions, construction conditions, power grid output conditions and other advantages are destined to the future actions of Dunhuang's optoelectronic industry. This is also the glorious mission of this land. Tips: This is a "Attraction" composed of 12,000 mirrors (420,000 small mirrors). It is a collision of reality and technology, and a combination of desert and Gobi wisdom.Dunhuang · 15.2 km from downtown

Xuanquan Temple perfectly embodies the "living fossil of the Han Dynasty Silk Road." The four main areas—the restored fortified village, the digital exhibition hall, the original ruins, and the millennium-old hanging spring—are seamlessly connected, offering an immersive experience and a strong sense of time travel. The staff are enthusiastic, and the temple strikes a good balance between preserving the historical site and providing modern services, allowing visitors to feel the historical grandeur while enjoying contemporary amenities.

It's definitely worth a visit. Don't just visit the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang; you should also see the technological achievements. Up close, it's truly spectacular. The Tyndall effect is also quite impressive. The guide was very kind. He even picked us up even though we were just two people, so we ended up being four people in total. He enthusiastically explained the whole thing.

Because the Crescent Lake concert was canceled, the kids wanted to play in the sand but didn't want to squeeze in and queue. So we booked this dinner party, and we were extremely satisfied. The owner was also very nice. We could play, drink, and eat as much as we wanted without crowding or queuing. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. It was the happiest day of our entire Northwest trip!
