Reviews: Luang Prabang Pak Ouv Caves + Kuang Si Waterfall 1-day tour [Mekong River cruise to Pak Ouv Caves]
Guest User2025-11-18
I took this tour solo, and it was full of pleasant surprises! It was an English-speaking tour, but the local guide who guided me spoke excellent Japanese! He'd spent three months in Japan, so he spoke to me in Japanese, which was very reassuring for someone like me who isn't fluent in English! I thought the tour would end with the cave and waterfall, but he took me to two local villages and had lunch at an elephant camp, where I got to interact with elephants, which was fantastic! Crossing the Mekong River by boat was also a truly valuable experience! We weren't supposed to see the sunset, but the weather wasn't great, so I didn't even notice! I didn't have to force myself to talk to the other people on the tour, so I had plenty of time to enjoy the tour by myself, which I thought was great! Even though I don't speak English, the people around me were very kind and helpful, so I think even Japanese people who aren't comfortable communicating in English will enjoy this tour! I highly recommend it!
Reviews: Private Tour: Pak Ou Cave and Kuang Si Waterfall Tour from Luang Prabang

In the morning, we headed to the dock just outside the hotel and boarded our boat. Despite the murky water, the Mekong River cruise was pleasant. After traveling north for about an hour, we arrived at Pak Ou Cave, a mysterious space filled with 4,000 Buddha statues, both new and old. We continued north and disembarked at Ban Saihan Village. Here, we saw how whiskey was made from rice using traditional handmade equipment. There was also a wide selection of handicrafts made by villagers on looms for sale. From here, we hopped back in the car and headed to Kuang Si Waterfall. Before visiting the falls, we had lunch at a restaurant. Fish, pork, beef, and chicken were skewered and grilled over charcoal in front of the restaurant. Rare dishes included frogs, quail, and rats. I had the whole roasted frog. Its innards were removed and stuffed with vegetables and herbs, making it incredibly delicious. The meat was similar to chicken, but juicier and more flavorful. Kuang Si Waterfall is as beautiful as the photos show. The view of the waterfall, sunlight, and spray was amazing. The water was cold, but some people were swimming in it. Both the car and boat were comfortable, and the local guide was kind and his explanations were interesting. Our requests were fully met. The restaurant selection was also excellent. It was a great tour.
Reviews: Luang Prabang Evening Food Tour by Tuk-Tuk

We had an amazing experience with Pha. He took us to a mix of different places — both the food scene where locals hung out in and to the Night Market. He even helped us shop for souvenirs around the night market. Pha really took the time to listen to our preferences and he was very responsive in terms of listening to our orders. Imagine that we had 8 people in the group! You can really tell that Pha loves what he is doing. He was very passionate and energetic in answering our random questions, which ranged from the impact of the pandemic in Laos to why he preferred to buy from certain food stalls. It was so easy to go around the different food spots because of the lovely Tuktuks. We also loved the hotpot beside the beautiful river.
