Reviews: DMZ Day Trip: Third Tunnel/Dora Observatory/Imjingak / Optional North Korean defector meet-up
Guest User2025-11-19
The South Korean tour guide team was very professional. After booking through Ctrip, they communicated with us one day in advance to confirm the meeting time and place. The itinerary was compact and well-planned, visiting Imjingak, Dora Observatory, and the Third Tunnel in sequence. Our tour guide, Kim Ji-hye, was professional, cheerful, and humorous. She provided detailed explanations of the history of inter-Korean relations and each attraction, and thoughtfully helped with taking photos and translation.

Dennis made this tour very memorable for us! Always making sure that we are safe and enjoying the tour despite the route being slightly challenging to walk on. He’s funny and really informative!
Reviews: South Korea DMZ + Suspension Bridge Tour (Imjingak Tourist Information Center/Chinese guide provided for groups of 3 or more)

Many thanks to Lizzy, she did a great job :) What exactly is it like? You travel by bus with a group of about 30-40 people to the individual stations. The journey to the bridge took about 1 hour and 15 minutes from departure. Along the way, you get a lot of information about the DMZ and the individual stations. Interesting facts: You can buy anything at every station (snacks, drinks, souvenirs, etc.) You're not allowed to take anything into the tunnel (no watch, no cell phone, no camera...) except for a bottle of water. I recommend being in good physical shape for the tunnel. It's a relatively steep 350m drop and then back up again. At the observatory, you're also not allowed to take any photos of North Korea. This tour can also be booked with other companies, and it's significantly cheaper. See photo of the bus 😉
