Despite confusion and a communication breakdown (both our fault), we really enjoyed our excursion with Leon.
He is very knowledgable of locations to visit in the city for any reason, food, clothes, beer of course and is more than willing to give advice and tips about what to see and do in Hanoi.
We shared jokes over a few beers and really enjoyed seeing different areas of the city at night, including sitting with the locals to have dinner, street food style.
As an opportunity to get immersed with the locals, this tour taught us not to be too concerned about eating out on the street or enjoying a local brew.
We enjoyed 9 different beers, each differing in flavour and would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys getting out and about.

It was a very good trip. There was a car for round-trip transportation, and the tour guide was there for the entire day. The bus ride from Hanoi's Old Quarter to Halong Bay took about three hours. I rarely sit in the back seat, but it was surprisingly comfortable. Along the way, I was able to see exotic scenery, and Halong Bay was also quite beautiful. It's just that after seeing so many mountains and rivers in China, I didn't find it as stunning. However, the cruise experience was very good. There was a bathing pool on the top deck, so if you have children, bring your swimsuits. It was a very enjoyable day! The tour guide spoke English, and some of the boat staff spoke Chinese! Highly recommended!
