After departing Bergen at 08:00, we travel by comfortable tour bus through varied Western Norwegian landscapes, with carefully planned stops along the way. Your knowledgeable local guide shares insights into the region's history, culture, and scenery throughout the day. The journey takes us along the Osterfjord and past Vangsvatnet lake near the town of Voss before arriving at Tvindefossen, a well-known waterfall surrounded by local legends (visited on the return journey between June 1 and August 31).
One of the highlights of the day is a two-hour fjord cruise through the spectacular Nærøyfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in the world and part of the West Norwegian Fjords UNESCO World Heritage Site. Towering mountains rise more than 1,000 meters straight from the water as we pass small villages, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic cliffs. With a bit of luck, you may even spot seals or sea eagles.
The boat docks in the center of Flåm, a small village nestled deep in the fjord, where there is time to explore the waterfront before continuing the journey.
We then drive to the Stegastein viewpoint, ascending a narrow mountain road to 650 meters above sea level. From the platform, you'll enjoy panoramic views over the Aurlandsfjord and surrounding peaks — one of the most impressive perspectives in the region.
In winter (January–May), a light warm lunch is served in Gudvangen by the pier. In summer (June–August), lunch is enjoyed on board the fjord cruise. This full-day experience brings together fjords, waterfalls, mountain landscapes, and local insight in a relaxed and memorable way. In the afternoon, a coffee break with freshly made local pastry is also included. In winter, we stop at Gudvangen Fjordtell in a cozy fjordside setting. From May 1 to August 31, we instead visit the historic Stalheim Hotel, beautifully located with panoramic views over the dramatic Nærøydalen Valley.
