This one-day trip outside of Auckland combines city highlights, countryside charm, and the wild beauty of the West Coast.
In the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel. After a brief introduction, we'll begin with a short guided tour of central Auckland's key sights. Then, in a comfortable van, we'll travel through the scenic Kumeū wine region toward the dramatic Muriwai coastline, famous for its volcanic black-sand beach. There, we'll walk along the shore to experience the powerful, picturesque waves.
On the return journey, we can stop at local wineries or take a scenic drive to the Arataki Visitor Centre, where you'll encounter ancient kauri trees and enjoy stunning views of the Manukau Gulf and Auckland City.
After that, we head back to the coast to visit waterfalls and take in the dramatic coastal views of Piha.
Along the way, your guide will share stories of Māori legends and the history of New Zealand. If time permits and you're interested, we can also stop at the scenic lookout on Mount Eden.
