We enjoyed our visit to the Boboli Gardens in Florence. It was a very pleasant place for a leisurely walk, with beautifully landscaped paths and several wonderful viewpoints overlooking the city and surrounding areas. The gardens offer a peaceful break from the busier parts of Florence and a nice sense of history and scale. That said, when we visited in February, there was quite a bit of restoration work underway. Some areas were partially closed or impacted by scaffolding, which took away a bit from the overall experience. Even so, we’re glad we went—the views and atmosphere still made it worthwhile, and it’s easy to imagine how stunning it will be once the restoration is complete.

Raffaelo is a passionate guide who loves his job. We learned a great deal during the tour, both about the history of the palace and the various sculptures and paintings. I highly recommend this guide; we had a wonderful time with him.
