Reviews: Half-day tour to Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Army) [Optional Chinese/English guide/performance]
Guest User2026-04-07
Our guide, Ruby, was excellent! She was kind, funny, very well informed and spoke great English. With her, we learned a lot more about the Mausoleum and Terracotta Warriors than we would have otherwise. We highly recommend getting her as a guide! Although there was a little discrepancy between the description here and her actual itinerary (lunch was planned with her, but not selectable here), this was very quickly clarified. Lunch was optional for 38 Yuan and the shows mentioned were booked by her quickly and without any upcharge. Transportation was organized quickly for everyone, even when the group split up after the main tour. We ended back in Xi'an by the Bell Tower much richer in experiences than when we started the day.
Reviews: Phuket Phi Phi Island + Maya Bay + Honeymoon Island Snorkeling Day Trip - Recommended booking Sky Mirror/Dolphin Boat including longtail boat experience!
Guest User2026-04-02
I booked through Lazy Cat a day in advance, and they were very efficient, getting me on the waiting list. They picked us up at 7:40 AM, arriving at the pier around 8:30 AM, but we didn't depart until 9:40 AM. They probably came so early considering the road conditions in Phuket. The pier is located in the southeast of Phuket. Upon arrival, we registered and received wristbands. Breakfast was provided, including some small bread rolls and cakes. We received free masks, snorkels, and towels with our wristbands; fins were available for rent separately. The island-hopping tour group consisted of four guides (including San Di and Awei), six sailors, two caretakers, and photographer Akai. Photos were free; all photos were provided, and Akai's photography skills were quite good. The Sky Mirror is a three-story yacht, but the people actually only use the second floor. The lower level is for storage and toilets, and the space is actually quite large. Our group had about 60 people, and it wasn't crowded at all. The toilets were spacious enough to change clothes, unlike the cramped toilets on speedboats where you can barely lift your head. The journey to Phi Phi Don took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The entire trip was spent taking photos on the Skyline, from the bow to the stern – both were great spots. We didn't go ashore at Phi Phi Don because it's too crowded now, and those not staying at their hotels aren't allowed on the island. Instead, we went directly to Maya Bay at Phi Phi Leh for snorkeling. We took a long-tail boat to Maya Bay, arriving around midday and getting very sunny. Along the way, we saw the Swallow's Nest Cave. We spent about an hour on the beach taking photos; the scenery was beautiful, and the lagoon was gorgeous. After taking photos, we returned to the yacht for a buffet lunch. While not amazing, it was much better than takeout; the pasta, fried rice, and soup were decent. Then we went snorkeling at Honeymoon Island. This arrangement was good; after taking photos and changing clothes, we could snorkel in peace. We didn't go ashore again after that. Honeymoon Island is a bit shallower than Maya Bay, but snorkeling at both is actually quite good, with high visibility. The crew helps by baiting the boat, and there are quite a few small fish swimming around, but we didn't see anything large, and hardly any sea turtles. Once at Honeymoon Island, they lower the water slide, and the guide even does a diving performance, creating a lively atmosphere. The journey there was a bit rough, causing the boat to rock slightly. On the way to Honeymoon Island, the sea was mostly calm, but we weren't lucky enough to see any dolphins. On the return trip, we saw the sunset.

Climbing the Badaling Great Wall, one is greeted by the endless, undulating walls. But what truly inspires awe is the reawakening of history through the explanations provided. During this trip, our guide, Mr. Chen, with his solid professional skills and composed narration, transformed Badaling from a mere tourist attraction into a historical site worthy of understanding and reflection. Mr. Chen's explanations were both insightful and logical. He didn't rush to conclusions, but rather unfolded the story layer by layer, starting with the background of the Great Wall's construction, its historical context, its military function, and the sacrifices of ordinary people, placing the grand historical narrative back into the context of real people and the era. Listening to his explanations wasn't just about gaining knowledge; it was about feeling the weight and warmth of history. Beyond his professionalism, Mr. Chen's sense of responsibility and meticulousness were even more impressive. He maintained a good pace throughout the trip, ensuring the content was complete while catering to the different stamina and experiences of various tourists. His explanations were patient, sincere, and unpretentious, making the trip feel truly meaningful. A good trip is inseparable from a truly dedicated guide. Thanks to our tour guide, Mr. Chen, for his insightful, professional, and dedicated approach, which made this trip to the Badaling Great Wall a memorable experience and deepened our understanding and respect for this part of history.
