I joined a walking tour of Medellín’s historic district today, and it was excellent. Julio used to be a teacher in North Carolina and also teaches here in Medellín—and it really shows. He kept the group engaged the whole time, no one was distracted, and he answered every question. I’d highly recommend him, and honestly, this should be the first thing you do to understand how Medellín began with its indigenous people.★

It was a beautiful tour, we saw many parts of the city we would have missed otherwise. Santiago's English is very good and he shared lots of information on the city and the history of Colombia in general. Santiago and Jose were both very helpful and great guides. This is a MUST DO! This tour beats all the others by miles. You will need to be mildly active to do it, but I was battling the worst day of allergies and still was able to power through and have quite literally the best time while here in Medellin. We did the mountain climb and the zipline and the experience will take your breath away. Diego is super patient and kind and I highly recommend you request him for the tour. Gorgeous, beautiful and the pictures do NOT do it justice. Worth every single penny. ★
