The tour takes a complete day and you will ended it up exhausted. If is a 4h drive back to Cartagena once it ends. They provide you with a breakfast (arepa de huevo) in Barranquilla and simple basic lunch at a local humble hotel in Santa Marta. No food allergies are taken into consideration just be mindful of it. You get a brief visit to Barranquilla, where you can take photos with the city letters name and a couple of monuments. Once in Santa Marta we got an amazing tour and information about their historic city, photos at the city letter name and visit their museum. Finally they take you to the beach which unfortunately is not quite planned nor explained, basically, you get there and have around 2.5 hours on your own. The bus was comfortable and it had great AC on. On our way back we had issues with a flat tire which delayed the return for about 40 minutes. The guides were informative and fun. We got to meet many people from several countries which is always nice. If you only have one day, I would say to do it but if you want to know a little bit more about Barranquilla or stay longer in Santa Marta's beaches, you may need to look for another tour.

The guide was very friendly, we visited all the iconic landmarks of both cities, and lunch was delicious. They need to improve the pick-up arrangements, as at 10 pm the previous day we still didn't know if they were picking us up at the hotel or if we should go to a meeting point, or even what time. They also arrived 30 minutes early, and we had to rush to pack up to catch the bus. The beach in the afternoon wasn't the best; it was packed, and it cost 50,000 pesos to be under a sunshade for an hour. Overall, it was okay, we enjoyed it, but they need to improve the morning's organization, and I wouldn't recommend relying too heavily on the beach in the afternoon.

A very good and enjoyable experience; I really liked the sculptures in Barranquilla and the historic area of Santa Marta. The fact that the meal was included was a bonus.

Andres was an excellent tour guide and was so knowledgeable about the history of Santa Marta. He was also very easy going and fun to spend the day with. We first walked around the historic Old Town. He first walked us thru the gold museum explaining the importance of gold to the region. We then went to the Cathedral, the City Square and he even showed us the oldest Hostel in the city. We then drove to the suburbs to visit the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, which was the house of the hacienda that was lent to Simon Bolivar in 1830. He was the liberator of Columbia and several other South American countries. He spent his final days there and passed away there. The house and grounds are a memorial to him and the area was beautiful. All in all it was a great trip and I highly recommend this tour and Andres!

Reviews: Cartagena ATV Tour

The ATV tour in Cartagena, Colombia, was an absolute blast! After a short car ride with my driver from Expedition Colombia, I was dropped off and got ready for the adventure. The staff collected our IDs and had us sign a waiver before showing a quick safety video on operating the ATVs. Once we did a trial run to get comfortable, we set off on the tour, which included three exciting stops. One memorable moment was riding on the beach, where the instructor encouraged those wanting to speed up to stay in the front and those preferring a leisurely pace to hang back. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch with fried plantains, carrots, tomatoes, and onions—possibly an arepa? Overall, the experience was thrilling, with beautiful scenery and great company, making it a highlight of my trip! Exploring the terrain was exhilarating but the best part for me was meeting these wonderful women from Atlanta, Boston , and Washington D.C everyone was a vibe. The combination of the people you meet and the adventure makes the experience unforgettable! Lastly some tips:let the staff know if you are allergic to anything , bring money with you and store it in a bag that goes around your waist , I would bring a bandanna, a water bottle (they provide water as well) , sunscreen , shades , breathable clothes. (also a positive attitude)
