Explore the Loncco Route: Full Day Excursion from Arequipa

Itinerary

We will pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa at 6:30 a.m. to begin the Lonco Route, where you will enjoy natural landscapes and lesser known but fascinating villages.

We will start in Quequeña, visiting the Museum of the Martyrs and the ancient petroglyphs of Guayalopo and Curlaca, with more than 1500 years of history. We will tell you about the Loncco, an iconic Arequipa character that will surprise you.

Then, appreciate the views from the Cerro Soncomarca viewpoint and explore the Quequeña church. Continue to Sogay, famous for its palm tree plaza and ashlar houses overlooking the Yarabamba River.

Next stop will be the Uzuña lagoon in Polobaya, where you can go canoeing, kayaking or fishing. Afterwards, you will have free time for lunch.

We will visit Molleybaya, where we will explore the historic center and the communal fulling mill, followed by Characato, with its square and impressive springs.

We will finish in Sabandía, admiring the church of the Virgin of the Rosary and a 17th century mill. We will return to Arequipa, finishing near the Plaza de Armas at 17:00 hours.
