Great visit! It's sade we couldn't do the mousson forest as the road was blocked due to landslide, however the visit was great! Maran was very nice and has shared a lot of his knowledge with us and brought us to amazing places to get food! Even went the extra mile to bring us to an amazing local place for dinner. Totally recomand!
Reviews: UNESCO Archaeological Heritage Of The Lenggong Valley from Ipoh

It is not easy to find a guided tour of the Lenggong Valley. The tour organised by Ipoh Secrets Tours with guides John (for the day) and Faiz (for the caves) was just what we needed. From Ipoh we travelled comfortably by car to the Lenggong Valley where we visited several caves where archaeological excavations have been carried out (including Gua Teluk Kelawar, Gua Ngaum and Gua Asar). As announced, we walked from one cave to the next; good shoes were essential, as the path was in the forest and the ground can be slippery in the caves. On the way back, we visited the Lenggong Archaeological Museum before enjoying a delicious laksa telur sarang in a typical restaurant. The tour also included a very interesting stopover in the royal city of Kuala Kangsar, where we visited the royal mosque and the magnificent "temporary" palace (Muzium Diraja Kuala Kangsar). Our guides were both very knowledgeable and we thank them once again for this wonderful day of discovery.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to the Cameron Highlands with Jai. It was a big day full of highlights. Jai picked us up at 8am at our hotel in Ipoh and the drive to the first major stop, the first tea plantation, took not much over 2 hours (the timing is very dependant on traffic conditions on the day). We did get a very brief tour of the small historical factory by the tea plantation itself but Jai's explanation on the whole process was much more informative. The walk around the Orchid & Rose garden was enjoyable, there were some interesting plants for us to see including a lot of tropical fruits and flowers (its definitely not just orchids and roses). After a stop for a tasty Chinese lunch we visited the second (and final) tea plantation where we had a good amount of time to walk around the tea plantation garden. There was a refreshing short stop at a waterfall on the way back out from the highlands. We were back at the hotel at 6:30pm, a bit tired but extremely happy with all that we'd seen and learnt during the day. I really enjoyed Jai's choice of small roadside market stalls to stops. It was interesting to see the local foods and products for sale and hear about the area and the indigenous people. Even though we had a lot of time in the car, Jai made frequent stops, even if only short stops for a leg stretch whilst seeing a native plant or for a bathroom break. All in all a great day out, we saw beautiful scenery, learnt a lot, ate a lot and had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend seeing the Cameron Highlands with Jai.
