The tour only includes transportation; everything else is self-service due to the distance. You'll need to plan your own activities and activities once you arrive. There's no guide; you're on your own. To take photos with the elephants, you'll need to buy small bananas (100 taels each) to feed them. Meals are also served to the elephants and are at your own expense.

An excellent tour! Our attentive guide, New, accompanied the group with care and attention, providing all the necessary information. The time spent on the grounds was perfectly timed to allow for a stroll and exploration of each temple. The organization was excellent.

A Visit to Four Temples in Chiang Rai In the morning light, the White Temple, pure white as a mirror, reflects a sacred glow, while the Bridge of Helplessness lies serenely beside the turquoise pond. The Blue Temple, indigo-washed with gold, resembles a deep-sea palace under the bright sun, its eaves chiming in the breeze. The Black Temple, with its forest of black wood, stands solemnly and mysteriously against the backdrop of greenery and sunlight. The Red Temple, with its bright vermilion walls and upturned eaves reflecting the blue sky, is surrounded by lush vegetation, the gentle sound of Buddhist chants filling the air with a sense of exotic tranquility.

It was a fantastic experience. I specifically chose an English-speaking guided tour just to practice my listening skills. We boarded the bus at 7 am and were dropped off at 8 pm, a full 13 hours of travel. Exhaustion was inevitable, but compared to the driver, we were very relaxed and comfortable. We didn't visit the Long Neck Karen village (we were a little scared). The hot spring was small but impressive; the 91-degree boiling water was intimidating. We didn't try the hot spring eggs; 20 baht for 3 eggs was a bit too much for us, so we decided against it. The White Temple, Blue Temple, and Red Temple are definitely worth seeing. We had plenty of time and took fewer photos, so we felt we had enough time to see everything we wanted. Since it was midday, it was difficult to find suitable lighting, and there were too many people, so the photos are only so-so. They would be perfect for photos in the softer light of early morning or late afternoon; we'll have to stay in Chiang Rai next time to achieve that.
