Introduction to Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum
Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum, officially named Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum, was established in 1954 as China's first specialized ceramics museum. It is not only a national first-class museum but also serves as an institution dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, researching, and promoting the history and culture of Jingdezhen ceramics.
Key highlights and positioning
Vast collection: Discover treasures from Neolithic pottery to modern ceramic masterpieces by Jingdezhen artists, totaling over 36,000 pieces.
Spanning a vast historical period: The system comprehensively showcases Jingdezhen's 1,800-year ceramic development history, serving as a vivid "living" ceramic chronicle.
Going viral: The museum's humorous modern ceramic sculptures like "Speechless Buddha" and "Arhat" have exploded on social media, becoming must-visit attractions for young visitors.
Architecture/Exhibitions
The new museum building opened in 2015. Its architectural design draws inspiration from the shapes of wood-fired kilns and ceramic throwing, making it a modern art piece in itself.
