•This was the place where gladiators fought for their lives, prisoners on death row struggled with hungry lions, and it was also the great symbol of eternal Rome •Take in the magnificent architecture and imagine epic battles that once took place here •Imagine the bustle of the marketplace, the intrigue of political debates, and the opulence of imperial residences △ The Colosseum was built on the site of the magnificent Dumus Aurea and was completed in 80 AD. But with the decline of the Roman Empire in the 6th century AD, the Colosseum was gradually abandoned and became overgrown. Since then, the Colosseum has been damaged by earthquakes many times, and it has even become a source of stone and marble for builders. Nowadays, only the incomplete skeleton of the Colosseum is left in front of people, but you can still get a glimpse of the style of that day. △ From the outside, the Colosseum has four floors (including the underground). On the first floor, you can clearly see the maze-like building in the center of the Colosseum. The basements that were once the Colosseum housed the beasts and gladiators who were about to duel. If you want to see the underground part up close, you need to be led by a tour guide. △ The entire exterior wall of the Colosseum is made of limestone, with 80 arches (vormitori) on each floor, allowing spectators to quickly enter and take their seats. The recesses on the second and third floors were once filled with marble statues. The top of the wall is dotted with windows and slender Corinthian pilasters, and there are 240 wall columns to support the canvas canopy covering the Colosseum.Italy · Rome

Musee d'Orsay

Musee d'Orsay, hailed as the "palace of impressionism," is where you can admire numerous masterpieces by great impressionist artists and experience the magic of colors and light. On the museum's plaza, six bronze statues represent the six continents of the world; inside the museum, beneath the grand glass dome, natural light filters through the glass and falls upon the paintings, allowing visitors to more vividly appreciate the charm of the artworks and the creative passion of the artists under this illumination. The palace of art, the holy land of impressionism The Musee d'Orsay faces the Louvre across the river and currently houses a collection of over 4,000 artworks, showcasing nearly half a century (1848–1912) of artistic creations from 1848 to the dawn of Cubism, including paintings, sculptures, and furniture displays. Locals often say that if you want to admire pre-1848 artistic treasures, visit the Louvre; if you're interested in modern art post-1912, head to the Centre Pompidou; while the Musee d'Orsay bridges the gap between the two. Currently, the Musee d'Orsay has over 80 exhibition halls across five floors, with three levels open to the public. These three floors chronologically display the museum's prized collections. The ground-floor hall primarily exhibits paintings, sculptures, and decorative artworks from 1850 to 1870, featuring masterpieces by numerous renowned artists. During your visit, you might start from the sculpture avenue at the center of the hall, explore the galleries along its sides, and then admire the famous model of the Paris Opera. Inside the museum, you'll notice traces of its former life as a train station—the tracks on the first floor, the VIP lounge on the second floor, and the hotel on the third floor have all been transformed into exhibition halls. Vatican Museums

4.6/5
1.7k reviews
The Vatican Museums is one of the earliest museums in the world, consisting of 12 exhibition halls and 5 art galleries. It brings together ancient artifacts from Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as the artistic essence of the Renaissance, making it a museum housing priceless treasures. Museum collection Although the Vatican Museums cover a small area, their collection of masterpieces is countless. For instance, Michelangelo's ceiling painting "The Creation of Adam" is housed here and is well worth seeing. At the same time, for friends who love archaeology, some ancient Greek and Roman artifacts collected in the Vatican Museums are also worth studying. Of course, besides the collections inside, the architectural style of the Vatican Museums itself is also highly commendable. The ancient, fortress-like outer walls, the spiral ramp at the exit, and the sculpture "Sphere Within a Sphere" in the Pinecone Courtyard are all worth savoring in detail. The Vatican Museums is located in Vatican City, a world-renowned comprehensive museum complex with collections spanning from ancient Egypt and Greco-Roman civilizations to Renaissance art. Its origins can be traced back to the early 16th century when Pope Julius II publicly displayed the excavated statue of Laocoön in the papal palace. Over the centuries, it has continuously expanded and now consists of multiple exhibition halls and art galleries connected in series. The visiting route is generally one-way: entering from the Pinecone Courtyard side, passing through the sculpture gallery, tapestry gallery, and map gallery, and ending at the Sistine Chapel. Classical sculptures are widely recognized as the highlight of the museum. The "Laocoön" and "Apollo Belvedere" in the Octagonal Courtyard have been classic works repeatedly copied and interpreted since their excavation. Although the "Belvedere Torso" in the Hall of the Muses only remains as a torso, the vitality bursting from its muscles profoundly influenced Michelangelo's creations. The Egyptian Gallery houses mummies and stone artifacts from thousands of years ago, while the Etruscan Gallery gathers excavated artifacts from Italy's early civilizations. In the Pinecone Courtyard, the first area visitors encounter upon entering, Arnaldo Pomodoro's bronze sculpture "Sphere Within a Sphere" stands beside a bronze pinecone approx. 4 m tall, serving as the first photo spot for many travelers. The Renaissance section is equally dazzling. The Raphael Rooms, originally the papal apartments, feature interconnected frescoes across four chambers. Among them, The School of Athens in the Stanza della Segnatura, which brings together philosophers like Plato and Aristotle in a single composition, is regarded as one of the masterpieces of the High Renaissance. The Gallery of Tapestries displays nearly 20 wall hangings woven by Brussels artisans based on Raphael's designs, while the Gallery of Maps boasts floor-to-ceiling grand maps of Italy and an ornate ceiling, all worthy of a slow, attentive viewing. The crowning Sistine Chapel showcases Michelangelo's ceiling fresco The Creation of Adam, with the equally awe-inspiring The Last Judgment behind the altar. Photography is prohibited inside the chapel, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in quiet contemplation. A few tips: The full tour usually takes half a day or more. During peak hours, it's advisable to prioritize your energy and time for the Sistine Chapel. The picture gallery near the entrance atrium isn't on the main route – Raphael's The Transfiguration and Leonardo da Vinci's unfinished Saint Jerome are housed here and easily missed when rushing. Before exiting, the double helix ramp designed by Momo at the museum's exit is an architectural masterpiece in itself. A top-down shot from the ramp's peak is one of the museum's most photographed angles.Vatican · Vatican

Hagia Sophia

3.9k reviews
Hagia Sophia faces the Blue Mosque across the street. Originally the main cathedral of the Byzantine Empire, it was converted into a mosque after being occupied by the Turks. This historic building in Türkiye stands as one of the country's most iconic symbols. The exterior of Hagia Sophia features classic mosque domes and minarets, with an ablution fountain (for mosque use) in front and several stone pillars topped with intricate carvings nearby. Nine gates lead to the central hall from the narthex, with the middle one known as the "Imperial Gate," once reserved exclusively for emperors and empresses. The four gates on either side were designated for commoners, while the two middle gates were for nobles and officials. The grand central hall dazzles with multicolored marble floors and walls adorned with vibrant mosaic patterns. Numerous windows and low-hanging chandeliers maintain the hall's lighting, while the ornate lamps create a warm ambiance beneath the towering dome, evoking a sense of awe. The dome preserves Byzantine-style frescoes in rich colors. Above the altar is an image of the Virgin and Child gazing downward. On either side of the altar hang six large black disks with golden Arabic calligraphy, each about 10 meters in diameter, inscribed with names. The right side of the altar marks the coronation spot, while the left features a preaching balcony. A spiral passage at the end of the side corridor leads to the upper gallery, where dignitaries and females once prayed. The gallery walls display numerous frescoes depicting Christian stories. From here, visitors can admire the hall's majestic spatial design, with golden and blue decorative motifs adorning the column capitals, bases, and joints. The intricately carved capitals are breathtaking. Walking along the upper gallery, the "Empress's Lodge" stands to the right, directly above the "Imperial Gate" at the entrance below. From this vantage point, visitors can clearly see the exquisite mosaic artwork embedded above the gate.Türkiye · Istanbul

·Experience the charm of the filming locations of "The Phantom of the Louvre" and "The Da Vinci Code". ·Appreciate the magnificent display of the treasures of ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian and other civilizations here. ·Visit the giant glass pyramid that combines classical palaces with modern architectural styles. The Louvre Museum was built in 1204. The castle has undergone several expansions and was converted into a museum after the French Revolution. It is one of the three largest museums in the world, along with the British Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Today, the Louvre Museum has a collection of 400,000 pieces, spanning more than 1,500 years. The Louvre Museum usually exhibits only about 10% of the total collection, but it is enough to feast your eyes. The Louvre Museum has many treasures, the most famous of which are the "Three Treasures of the Louvre": "Venus de Milo", "Mona Lisa" and "Winged Victory of Samothrace". The marble of "Venus de Milo" is so white and pure, yet so moving. Is it Aphrodite? Or is it Amphitrite? When the "Venus de Milo" was sent to the Louvre, the art restorer's first reaction was to repair the missing arm of Venus. But in order to make the work not distorted, he finally gave up this idea. The missing arms make it very difficult to identify the statue. The identity of the deity in ancient Greek art is usually determined by the objects or iconic elements in the figure's hands. There were many questions about the identity of the goddess. Could she be Amphitrite, the sea goddess who was particularly revered on the island of Milo? Or was she Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, as her half-naked body suggested? She once wore jewelry, which tilted the balance of the statue's identity towards Aphrodite, also known as Venus in ancient Roman mythology. Later, a hand holding an apple was found near the site where the statue was unearthed. This is one of the artistic elements of Venus, and the marble used to carve this hand holding an apple is the same Paros marble as the statue. For centuries, Mona Lisa's famous mysterious smile has been sung and lingered. Mona Lisa looks at the viewer with her legendary smile, and behind her there is a beautiful natural landscape extending into the distance. The Mona Lisa: The Stolen Thief of the CenturyOn August 21, 1911, there was panic in the Louvre! The Mona Lisa was missing! Newspapers of all sizes published the news and offered a reward. But for more than two years, there was no trace of the Mona Lisa. Until one day, an Italian art dealer contacted the investigation authorities, and someone actually handed him this famous painting that the whole world was looking for! The person was Vincenzo Peruggia, a glass craftsman who had worked at the Louvre. The Mona Lisa was found, and she became even more famous. The Winged Victory of Samothrace is so light that it seems to float in mid-air. Originally a tribute to the gods, it stood high in a temple on the Greek island of Samothrace, just as it now stands on the Daru Stairs. The statue shows the winged goddess of victory Nike landing on the bow of a ship. "Dance Hall Star" When the Winged Victory was installed at the Daru Steps in 1883, the background decorations designed for it were far more complex than today, with the dome covered with magnificent mosaics. However, these decorations were not well received, and some critics even compared the Winged Victory to a cabaret star. Finally, in 1934, imitation stone wallpaper covered the original decorations, creating a solemn and elegant atmosphere.France · Paris

·Admire the magnificent and imaginative architectural design of the Palace of Versailles ·Step into the beautiful palace gardens of Europe and encounter forests, flower paths, greenhouses, colonnades, temples, villages, zoos, and numerous scattered marble statues ·Don't miss the featured exhibitions such as the harvest hall, war god hall, peace hall, church, theater, and king and queen suites The Palace of Versailles was built during the reign of Louis XIV of France (1643-1715) and consists of the main palace castle, gardens, Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, and the estate of Marie Antoinette. The first floor of the Palace of Versailles houses the suites of the crown prince and princess, the chapel, and the palace's historical gallery, while its main views are concentrated on the second floor of the main building and in the gardens. Grand Trianon: Though much simpler than the main palace castle, it is the most elegant and exquisite among all the buildings in the Palace of Versailles. This single-story palace, heavily influenced by Italian architectural style, is nestled between courtyards and gardens, topped with a flat roof surrounded by railings. Petit Trianon: This is a typical neoclassical-style building with a painting studio, bedroom, dressing room, etc. Marie Antoinette's palace gardens: The layout here reflects the queen's wide-ranging interests and refined tastes, far from the extravagance of Versailles, with traces of Enlightenment thought. △ The garden once boasted over a thousand fountains at its peak, and hundreds remain today. △ The magnificent palace is lavishly decorated, with colorful marble walls gleaming brilliantly and giant crystal chandeliers cascading down like waterfalls. △ The inner walls and dome are covered with Western-style oil paintings depicting vivid mythological scenes, as if recounting the glorious military exploits of past kings.France · Versailles

• Witness the history and royal anecdotes of Spain • Approx. 2 million travelers visit annually • Combining traditional Spanish royal architectural style with Baroque style, it covers a total area of approx. 130,000 m² with over 3,000 rooms △In the 9th century, this was once the castle of Arab rulers. After being recaptured by Christians, it became the residence of successive kings. A fire in 1734 destroyed the castle, and the royal palace seen today was rebuilt in 1764. △The Royal Palace of Madrid is an exquisitely crafted architectural marvel and one of the best-preserved palaces in the world. The entire palace is magnificent, with over 3,000 rooms in total, though only around fifty are open for travelers to visit. Particularly noteworthy is the palace's preserved set of five Stradivarius string instruments—two violins, one viola, and two cellos. △Adorned with golden ornaments, royal red velvet floors and walls, and chandeliers as magnificent as the room itself, while admiring the ceiling painted by Tiepolo. Istanbul, a strategically vital location, has a history marked by frequent wars and name changes, including Constantinople and Istanbul. The same applies to this church; when Christians won, it was called "Hagia Sophia," and when Muslims won, it was called "Ayah Sophia Mosque." The current official name is the latter.

An absolute highlight of our Paris trip! Going all the way up to the summit of the Eiffel Tower was worth every single penny and a complete must-do when visiting Paris.Once at the top, you are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. The pinnacle of the whole experience was the champagne toast right at the top—enjoying a glass of chilled champagne with that spectacular view was purely magical.Everything was top-notch and smoothly organized from start to finish. We would book this experience again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris!

The Palace of Versailles was an incredible experience and definitely a highlight of my trip to France. The palace itself is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning architecture, beautiful rooms, and so much history around every corner. The ticketing process was simple, and the ticket was easy to use for entry into all the main areas of the palace. We were able to explore comfortably without any problems. The only downside was that some parts of the gardens were under construction during our visit, so we couldn’t fully experience the gardens at their best. However, this did not take away from the overall experience. Versailles is still a must-see destination and a place I would highly recommend visiting.

Actually, I missed the meeting point because I didn't pay attention to the ticket instructions; the meeting point wasn't at the palace entrance. I had to buy a separate ticket to get in, but it was definitely worth it. The palace is incredibly luxurious and magnificent, with stunning interiors. It was a truly worthwhile trip.
