Barely any whiales. Saw tails and some body mass in the water. They were small. Very discounted. Nothing like the experience in Australia a few years ago with huge and many whales jumping out of the water. The trip on the fjords was nice albeit an expensive boat trip.

Reviews: Traditional Whale Watching from Húsavík by Local Family Company

Despite the freezing Icelandic winter temperatures, we boarded the ship with about thirty people, along with the captain and guide. We were provided with warm overalls and a raincoat (though we recommend warm clothing, as temperatures in the open sea are very low). After sailing 20-30 minutes away from the coast, we began our search for whales, exclusively by sight. This proved to be very fruitful, as we managed to spot a large number of them. Throughout the journey, the guide entertained us with facts and trivia about everything related to the world of whales.
The captain was always very responsive, bringing the vessel as close as possible to the whales we spotted.
Thank you for the memorable experience!
