Reviews: From Inverness: Torridon, Applecross, & Eilean Donan Castle

The trip was truly enjoyable and entertaining. Although the forecast predicted wind and rain, the weather at the end of March changed every 10 minutes from rainy to sunny, which allowed us to make plenty of stops at stunning viewpoints whenever it cleared up. The locations we visited were very diverse, showcasing different types of nature as well as a memorable castle visit. Our guide was excellent, sharing many interesting stories and small details about the local culture, history, and daily life, which made us fall in love with Scotland even more. The only minor issue was that the loudspeakers were not quite loud enough, so it was sometimes difficult to hear the guide clearly. However, this did not significantly affect the overall experience.

Awesome Tour!! We took our children ages 10,12, and 14 and they had a blast too!! Ian was a fantastic guide and told us all sorts of stories and legends as we drove through the highlands. Highly HIGHLY recommend this tour! Great way to see everything in one day!

I recently used a booking site and found it to be efficient and trustworthy — the platform offered competitive prices with clear fee breakdowns, an intuitive interface that made searching and confirming reservations simple, and reliable service with prompt confirmation emails and accurate details at check-in, making the overall experience.
Reviews: Inverness: Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle Day Trip
Guest User2026-04-05
This trip was absolutely amazing! The itinerary felt well thought out and meaningful, with plenty of scenic viewpoint stops. We had time for lunch in Portree, about 20 minutes at the Quiraing, and around 30 minutes in Sligachan. Overall, the timing worked well, except for the Quiraing stop, which felt too short. It’s an incredibly beautiful place where you could easily spend more time on a proper hike (ideally around 70 min). We also had a 75-min stop at Eilean Donan Castle, which was enough to visit, though we chose to walk to the nearby village instead, which I’d recommend if you’ve already seen the castle before (we did). While the castle is interesting, compared to the Quiraing it could almost be reduced to a viewpoint. In my opinion, it would feel more natural to spend the entire day exploring the Isle, as the tour is already quite intense and packed with highlights. That said, this tour is a solid 10/10, an incredibly cool and stunning experience that I would highly recommend.
Reviews: Loch Ness Cruise, Outlander & Urquhart Castle Tour from Inverness

This is an easy day tour out of Inverness. Stewart used his local knowledge and love for his country to guide us. Our whole family enjoyed the day. From the Loch Ness boat, to Urquhart Castle, a lovely tasting and cocktails (the best carrot cake muffin) at Singleton Distillery, lunch, followed by the carins thought to inspire The Outlander and battlefield of Culloden. We highly recommend this experience, hopefully you will get Stewart as your guide.

The coach was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our driver Johnny had an incredible wealth of knowledge of Scotland and Scottish history which he happily shared with us. Johnny is a credit to the company and we would definitely recommend Discover Scotland to anyone thinking of booking a trip.
