Overall, the price-performance ratio was good, considering it as transportation costs. You could leave the tour group at the end and stay in Kurokawa Onsen, then go directly to Beppu from Kurokawa Onsen the next day. The crater was closed due to a helicopter accident involving Taiwanese tourists in February, so you could only watch a live broadcast at the volcano museum. The tour guide strongly recommended Kusasenri horse oil and face masks. The tour guide gave us discount coupons, making the face mask 5500 yen and the horse oil 6600 yen per bottle. He said it contained horse placenta, so the production cost was high. After buying them, I felt it was completely unnecessary.★

This was a fantastic day trip with Gogoday! We departed from Hakata Station at 8 AM and arrived back at 6 PM. There was a rest stop at a highway service area. The itinerary included three attractions, and the time allotted was ample, allowing plenty of time to explore each one. Lunch was at Ama-Iwato Shrine, but time was a bit tight, so you could buy food at a nearby supermarket or beforehand at a Lawson convenience store near Hakata Station or at the highway service area. Finally, you could browse souvenir shops at Takachiho Gorge. The tour group consisted of both Chinese and Korean participants. Our guide, Mr. Zheng, first introduced the tour in Chinese and then in Korean. He was very kind and humorous, and there was absolutely no hard selling. He even gave us souvenirs! Thank you! 🙏★

Despite the fact that the boats were being serviced at Takachico Gorge and the crater was closed due to a helicopter accident, the tour was still great. I was impressed they called me to tell me about the cancellation of the boat trip and offered me a refund for that portion even before my trip started. When they found out the crater was closed, they also communicated it and offered a full refund if I didn’t want to take the trip anymore. I think it’s hard to come by companies these days that are so pro-active and handle issues so promptly. Yang Meng our guide was awesome, she contacted us, created a group chat and shared a lot of information about Mount Aso and Takachico Gorge. The Kusasenri area is very worth going to even if the Crater is closed. Takachico was beautiful and got to eat Nagashi somen out of bamboo shoots and water from the gorge. Cool experience. Yang Meng was so organized and told us beforehand how to make the best out of each part of the itinerary Highly recommend★

Just got back from Aso and Miyazaki, and I have to give a huge thumbs up to this day trip to Takachiho Gorge! The natural scenery was breathtaking, but what touched me even more was the thoughtful service of our guide, Sun Peng, and driver, which made the trip an absolute blast!
First, a huge shout-out to our guide, Sun Peng! He was incredibly professional and enthusiastic. Throughout the trip, he not only brought Kyushu's history and culture to life in a lively and engaging way, but he was also incredibly considerate of everyone's comfort. While touring Takachiho Gorge, he not only helped us find the best angles for photos but also patiently explained the legends and myths associated with Japan, transforming simply looking at the scenery into truly experiencing it.
And a special thank you to our driver! His driving skills were impeccable! Kyushu has many mountain roads, especially the winding roads leading to Takachiho Gorge, but the ride was completely smooth and comfortable, even for someone like me who is prone to motion sickness. He always quietly turned on the air conditioning beforehand and would nod and smile politely when we got on and off the bus, making us feel incredibly respectful and at ease.
Thanks to Director Sun's detailed explanations and the driver's safe escort, the scenery was even more beautiful along the way. If you're visiting Kyushu and want a worry-free yet in-depth experience, I highly recommend this tour. Remember to specifically ask for Director Sun! Five stars, a must-give five-star review! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟★

The electronic three-day pass allows you to use any three days within a five-day period, while the previous paper version was limited to three consecutive days. The electronic version offers greater flexibility, and it's very convenient if you've purchased a data plan for your phone.
This trip departed from Hakata Station and returned directly to Fukuoka Airport, without backtracking. I used the SUNQPASS Kitakyushu 3-Day Pass for the entire trip, using the pass on days 2, 3, and 5. Transportation costs were my own expense on arrival, and I signed up for a day trip on day 4. The pass allows you to ride highway buses, local buses, and selected ferries for free.
On day 1, upon arriving at Fukuoka Airport, I exchanged my reservation for a physical ticket at the counter. The staff will ask you to present your purchased e-ticket, but it doesn't need to be activated.
To board the highway bus, you need both the physical ticket and the same-day activation ticket you presented on your mobile phone. For local buses, you board the bus through the back door to obtain a numbered ticket. When you get off at your stop, show the driver your activated ticket and place the numbered ticket in a bin. The Shimabara to Kumamoto high-speed ferry also accepts a pass. Show it to the staff at the ticket counter and they'll give you a handwritten ticket. Just hand it to the staff at the check-in counter.
Our trip paid off, though not by much. However, not having to pay with coins when getting on and off the bus, and instead counting 10, 50, or 100 coins, was incredibly convenient.

The tour guide this time was very nice. He proactively added me on WeChat a day in advance to provide some helpful information, much more attentive and friendly than the guide from Toekei Company I booked before! 👍👍 He explained that due to an accident, we couldn't go directly to the volcano, but after asking my opinion, we went back to the park in the moonlight instead. On the day of the trip, the guide adjusted the order of the attractions accordingly, first going to Kusasenri for a distant view of Mount Aso, which was very thoughtful. Although the stops at each point were short, everyone on the bus was very punctual. There was a light drizzle when we went to Kurokawa Onsen, which added to the atmosphere. 😍 This day trip to a remote area of Kyushu was perfect for me; I really enjoyed it and will definitely book with them again next time. Thank you!
