The Forbidden City during the National Day holiday was incredibly difficult to book, so I chose the private tour that Xiucai recommended, which included tickets, and successfully booked a spot at the Forbidden City during the Mid-Autumn Festival, which also included a visit to the Treasure House. Tour guide Li Donghua informed us of the meeting time and location the night before. The four-hour tour was non-stop, with stops and starts along the central axis from the Meridian Gate to the Shenwu Gate. It was both exciting and tiring. Tour guide Li spoke in a clear, articulate voice, and it was obvious he was a native Beijinger. Four hours wasn't enough to cover it all, and the Forbidden City is still worth savoring. The tour guide Yi Hongliang's explanation was very good, humorous and exciting. It was very convenient for friends in Taiwan that they did not have to make reservations for tickets. The Forbidden City is really worth a visit.
