We had a great time on the tour. The guide/driver Florence was very professional and fun. Gave a lot of good information as well as got us to all of the sites efficiently.

Fascinating tour of mid-Etna 1690’s eruptions (craters), massive 1991 lava flow (Bola valley) , lava tibe. Tastings at end were nice and light lunch was even better. Our guide was enthusiastic, attentive and very knowledgeable. Beautiful flora too. While this tour doesn’t go to very active (at the time of our tour) lava fountains at top (compare with Hawaii Mauna Loa helicopter tours), it was way more interesting than Haleakala (Maui) summit.

At first, I was a little skeptical because we stopped at a local shop first; the locals do this to support each other. It was quite pleasant and not at all pushy. We then went to a lava field where the guide showed and explained many interesting things. After that, we visited a cave (we even saw a bat!) and finally, we drove all the way to the top and hiked up a mountain (about 15 minutes) – and the view was breathtaking! It was absolutely worth it! A fantastic tour with a friendly, helpful, and funny guide. He also kindly took lots of pictures of everyone! :-) A great experience for young and old. (The climb was a bit tiring towards the end, though.)


