Taking a mountain flight from Kathmandu to see Mount Everest was an unforgettable experience. As the plane rose above the valley, the clouds slowly cleared to reveal a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayas. Seeing the majestic peak of Mount Everest up close from the window felt surreal—something photos simply cannot capture. The flight was smooth, well-organized, and the crew made sure every passenger had a chance to enjoy the views and identify the mountains. Watching the sun illuminate the snow-covered peaks created a magical moment that will stay in my memory forever. If you’re visiting Kathmandu and want to witness the beauty of the Himalayas without trekking, this mountain flight is absolutely worth it. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I had an excellent day. Shishir is a very experienced, pleasant, confident, and fun tour, guide and company, very attentive and relaxed. It was a great tour all day long that leads through forest always on the mountain riff. As we take the cable car to start, you don’t have to do the long ascent and up to the high mountains. You always see the Himalayas in their full range and from different angles throughout the tour. It’s also very diverse experience with different forests and landscapes on the way. Shishir took great care. He truly has the photographic eye which I like a lot so he’s always finding out some good photographic opportunities and takes very nice shots. Because he’s also a high altitude licensed Guide he is interesting things to tell from his high altitude several days or several weeks tracking tours. It would be my number one tour guide in Nepal and I strongly recommend.

We hit the jackpot with our guide, Shankar. Shankar met us at our hotel and we sat down to discuss each of the sites. He gave us a lot of background and wrote the notes all out on paper that we then got to keep for reference. The driver met us all in a comfortable car. It is so valuable to have a driver taking you everywhere and getting you to the right location. Kathmandu traffic is best handled by an experienced local. All of the sites are so interesting and Sankar is a font of knowlege, and a good photographer as well. He was always happy to take our photo. We stopped for lunch while Shankar also had a break. Before leaving the restaurant, we had another presentation about Nepali politics and changes through the years. Again, all was written down for us to keep! We also visited an artist workshop where we had the opportunity to buy mandala originals at an "almost free" price. While we were walking in the area, three weddings with marching bands came through. It was an auspicious day for weddings and lucky for us to witness. Shankar is very easy to understand and he is an amazing font of knowledge. He explains things so well and writes so legibly, I guessed correctly that he had once been a teacher. Be prepared to pay all of the entry fees for the people in your party. If you go, I hope that Shankar is your guide!
