Mikumi National Park was wonderful. The tour guide was fantastic. Our driver was punctual and kind. The journey is described as 3 hours each way, it is actually 6 hours each way, this was due to traffic. The journey was comfortable, however, it would have been better to have this information to plan appropriately. ★

The tour operator met us promptly, welcomed us, and gave us souvenirs upon arrival. Our driver/tour guide was very pleasant, respectful and showed us as much of the city as he could for the limited time we were there. The only issue was that the tour operator currently does not have access to get inside the port so we've had to meet them outside the gate. The walk there was a little long with a lot of vehicle traffic coupled with heat and humidity. The tour itself was fine.★

We enjoyed the Bagamoyo Historical Tour we did with Dove Adventure Travel. They were extremely easy to coordinate with to arrange the tour. They were also able to provide airport transfer to and from our hotel in Dar es Salam which was helpful. Our driver Chris was punctual every time and had a nice new propane fired Landcruiser to drive us around in. The Bagamoyo Historical Tour was excellent - we left about 9 am and were back to our hotel before 6 pm, with the whole day dedicated to seeing all the historical sites of interest around Bagamoyo with our lively guide Prince. There is a great deal to see in this small town, and it really gives you a good sense of all the history of the place. We also enjoyed lunch (not included in the price) in a local restaurant in the historical part of town. I was really impressed with the Dove Adventure Team.★

Reviews: Mikumi National Park in a Day - A Day Tour from Morogoro

We really enjoyed the day in Mikumi National Park. A highlight was meeting a lion as the first animal early in the morning, before we even got to the park. We also had a lot of fun watching elephants, giraffes 🦒, zebras 🦓 and hippos. We were able to see a crocodile 🐊 up close outside the water.
We also had a lot of fun with our guide Jimmy and he explained a lot to us about the national park, nature and all the animals.
The food was also delicious and we like the beer.★

Our honeymoon day trip to Mikumi was perfect. Every part of the trip was stress-free and enjoyable. Barnaba made the hotel transfers and flights seamless. Our guide on the safari made sure we saw every animal that we wanted to see, he even made sure to track down animals that could be seen very close to the vehicle paths. I would highly recommend booking to anyone considering a trip to Mikumi with Captain Barnaba!
