The buffet on the Pearl River night cruise was alright, but the service was just so-so. Perhaps because there were so many people, you had to fight for the good food.

Panda Valley and Dujiangyan are two treasure troves where you can escape the crowds and enjoy the natural environment. Panda Valley offers close encounters with pandas and boasts a beautiful and refreshing natural setting; Dujiangyan is magnificent and spectacular, with a rich variety of delicious food in its ancient town. The entire trip was very comfortable. Our driver, Jiang Wensong, was friendly, enthusiastic, and patient, driving smoothly and safely. He recommended delicious restaurants and a time-saving and energy-efficient route. The guide in Dujiangyan provided humorous and engaging explanations that also helped us understand the water conservancy project.

The schedule is well planned, plenty time for each attraction. The driver 吳師傅 arrived hotel 30mins ahead to standby. The Panda base is not too crowded. The pandas are active in the morning. They are cute, we skipped the lunch session cos we were full, the bookstore and the giant panda sculpture are good for photo. That's some local restaurants near the sculpture. (The food smells good but we were not hungry) The last stop is the dujiangyan, the south bridge actually next to it. Therefore we get in dujiangyan and get up to those temples, and walk through the ancient town then get out at the south bridge, that will be a lot of steps if you desired to go up hill. The view is just manifasciant! We only watch the blue tears for 5mins due to the rain.

Our driver was nice and has very good driving skill, the car was clean and comfortable. Our guide, She was friendly, kind, helpful and resourceful. Her explanations about the place’s history and local cultures are details and easy to understand, She speaks good English. She help taking pictures of us and find many great spot. The organization was impeccable, with a perfectly paced itinerary that comfortably covered all advertised sites at both Qingcheng Mountain (青城山) and the Dujiangyan (都江堰), beginning with a perfectly timely hotel pickup. The guide system was particularly effective; we had a dedicated English-speaking guide whose passion and deep knowledge brought the history of the region to life. She didn't just show us ancient sites - she connected the ingenious principles of the 2,000-year-old irrigation system directly to its vital role in Sichuan today, which was fascinating. A crucial piece of advice: ensure you have WeChat installed. Our guide used a chat to align the hotel pickup and share route details. An absolutely first-class, educational, and enjoyable day.


