The fireflies are extremely beautiful and worth the trip. The meal arrangement is very good and the surrounding area is very convenient.

Product reviews: Guided tour - Viking Village, Nærøyfjord Cruise and Flåm Railway
Guest User2025-08-22
My last-minute Guided Fjord Tours trip from Bergen, though a bit pricey due to the late booking, was a fantastic experience. The comfortable tour bus, despite lacking a restroom, was pleasant. The Naeroyfjord cruise offered a serene and quiet journey on an electric-powered ship with a beautifully appointed leather interior. While the Flam railway tour went downhill instead of uphill as described in other tours, a minor disappointment, the waterfall views were still breathtaking. The Viking Village provided unexpected fun, allowing us to learn about village life and participate in activities like archery within the allocated hour. If there was more time, I would have also tried axe throwing.
Pro tip:
In my opinion, the views on the Flam railway are a wee bit better on the left side when traveling down (right side going up). Try to sit in one of the rows that allows the window to open for better photos.
When taking the Vy's R40 train from Bergen to Myrdal, sit on the right side of the train. I captured some beautiful photos from window seat 40 as it faces the direction of the ride (seat 36 also provides a great window view but faces seat 40. Seats 37 and 41 are on the aisle). The tour company does not reserve seats on the train. Please look for the green sign that reflects available seats (many are reserved in advance by commuters). Feel free to move to another car to find better seats. We found a completely empty car with lots of great available seats.

Two train tickets (including Norway's classic Flambana train) and a return cruise are prepared. There is no tour guide or leader, but the description is very clear. Trip.com will update the WeChat contact information of the small customer service. The small customer service is very enthusiastic. If you have anything unclear, just ask her. The train transfer is very simple. The first train from Bergen-Myrdal, you will see the Flambana green leather train when you get off the bus. There are a lot of tourists in summer, and you will not miss the train transfer with the big troops. The scenery on the Myrdal-Flam road is beautiful, there is a little rain on the day, but then it is cloudy, occasionally a little sunshine, the fjords and waterfalls are beautiful, and the small colorful houses are very beautiful. We stayed in the small town of Flam for more than 3 hours, and Flam also offers large cruise docking, there are a lot of passengers coming down from the cruise ship, eating and strolling in the small town, and 3 hours passed quickly. We went to a pub called AEGIR, a very Nordic bar, the second floor provides dining, the first floor is almost all drinking, very happy, the atmosphere is in place. You can also go to the small town of Aurland, not far away. The return cruise ship from Flam to Bergen will pass through the narrowest fjord, and will dock in several small towns along the way. The color is very beautiful. Many people take pictures on the deck. It takes a total of 5 hours along the way, which is a little slower than expected. There is also a canteen on the cruise ship, which offers simple meals and a variety of drinks. The trip is full after the day, but not tired, very very beautiful when approaching Bergen pier! Be sure to take pictures on the deck!
