Reviews: Jean Lafitte 90-Minute Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour
Guest User2024-10-09
Captain Jamie was knowledgeable and definitely got the rules across in an entertaining way. We were thrilled to see wildlife, mostly alligators, but also owls, great blue cranes and bald eagles. This tour is shorter than many, so it fit into our schedule better, and it was time well spent. A fun way to see the bayou!
Reviews: Whitney Plantation Tour with Transportation from New Orleans

We had a great experience visiting Oak Alley Plantation, and a big part of it was thanks to our driver, Kin. Originally from New Orleans, he shared a lot of knowledge about the city’s history during the drive and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. He was truly great and very professional. I highly recommend him! His vehicle was also very comfortable, which made the trip even more enjoyable. As for Oak Alley itself, the visit is interesting for anyone who wants to see the inside of a former slaveholder’s house, as both the mansion and the grounds are very well preserved. The guided tour of the house is paid, but access to the gardens and the former slave quarters is free. If your main interest is learning more about the lives of enslaved people, I would recommend visiting Whitney Plantation instead, as it offers a deeper and more focused perspective on that history.
Reviews: Guided Boat Tour of New Orleans Bayou

I had a great time on the swamp tour. We got to see alligators, cranes, egrets, pelicans, and the scenery was amazing with its old oak trees, native plant species, and the trees with the Spanish moss were beautiful. The boat was comfortable the captain informative. I did the 1045 am tour. There was a short ride to the docks and we boarded at 12. There is a There is a photo op with choice of purchase, a gift shop everything is reasonably priced, and they have a live albino alligator. Alligators don’t come out until it’s warmer so next time, I’ll do the afternoon tour, but otherwise it was great. Highly recommend. Our bus driver Alton was the best!
