Never having tried anything like this before, I was a bit apprehensive but I really needn't have worried. Ludger explained everything in detail before we got into the kayaks and really put me at my ease. It was great fun and the views of Heidelberg from the river were fabulous. Ludger stopped several times to point out places of interest and included lots of anecdotes relating to the history of the town (in German and English). It was all very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again, although next time I would wear gloves as the oars rubbed the skin between my thumb and forefinger a little, but maybe that's just me!

We booked a 3-hour tour on the Neckar River, including drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, taking in the picturesque scenery of Heidelberg and its four castles. The delicious drinks, included in the price, and of course, the fantastic weather made the tour even better. We would definitely do the tour again – highly recommended!
