Reviews: JR PASS Kansai & Hiroshima Area Railway Pass 5-Day (electronic tickets require redemption)
Guest User2026-10-23
The best deal on this 7-day Kansai & Sanyo trip was this JR Kansai & Hiroshima Amazing Pass (5 days)! The original price was ¥36,350, but the pass was only ¥17,000 – a saving of over half! The best part is that it also comes with a Trip.com discount and a free Hiroshima Enjoyment Pass, making it an incredible bargain! The itinerary focused on one National Treasure/attraction per day (Kyoto Seiryo-ji and Tenryu-ji Temples → Himeji Castle and Engyo-ji Temples → Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Museum → Miyajima Michishio Itsukushima Shrine → Okayama Korakuen Garden), and with this pass, you could easily travel by Shinkansen and still experience the culture in depth – highly recommended!

The Kansai Wide Area Railway Pass was very convenient. I went to Takayama and Toyama, and explored Kamikochi and Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. It was a very enjoyable trip.

We got it for much less than we paid at the box office. The employee helped us with the paperwork. There were no problems, and it arrived quickly.

Reviews: JR Sanyo & San'in Area Pass 7-Day (electronic tickets require redemption)

It was a great deal! We landed in Fukuoka, took the airport express for free, then took it one stop to JR Hakata Station to exchange for JR Pass tickets. We visited many places. Our return trip was in Osaka, so it took exactly one week.

Reviews: JR PASS Okayama & Hiroshima & Yamaguchi Area Rail Pass 5 Days (e-ticket)

Redemption process was straight forward. You’ll be e-mailed a QR code that you scan at designated ticket machines with passport readers. These are at major stations and at Hiroshima station specifically, there is clear signage of which machine to use.

Since it was my first time traveling with the Hiroshima-Yamaguchi 5-Day Pass, getting started was a bit tricky, but I had no trouble using it in practice. I felt it is definitely worth considering if your itinerary involves visiting multiple places over five days or more.
