I used an eSIM for the first time on a trip to Korea. I use about 80-110GB per month in the country. I was a bit worried, so I purchased 50GB for three days, but I ended up only using a little over 10GB. Next time, I think I'll choose a plan with a smaller number of gigabytes. I used the same amount as in Japan, especially searching and watching videos on Instagram. I didn't download large amounts of data (long videos, etc.) or watch videos for long periods of time. I hardly ever connected to Wi-Fi, so that's how much I paid. I never had any issues connecting due to crowded areas, and in fact, the internet connection was smoother than in Japan.

I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.

It's very convenient and affordable. You can order it on your computer and scan the QR code to pre-download it to your phone. There's no need for complicated SIM card returns and resets. After boarding the plane, select your E-SIM account for your phone's network and deactivate your original account. Once you arrive in your destination country, remember to select mobile data first, then activate roaming. That's it!
