Reviews: Kota Kinabalu Kawa-kawa river cruise 1-day tour: Proboscis monkeys & fireflies - includes snacks and dinner

The tour itinerary was quite comprehensive. While we didn't get to see the proboscis monkeys up close, the sight of countless stars and fireflies creating a breathtakingly romantic and unforgettable experience. The downside was the lack of clear instructions for the next steps, leaving some tourists a little confused. However, it was clear the tour operator had tried their best to provide a rich and engaging itinerary. Overall, for the price, it's highly recommended. The tea and dinner were decent, definitely worth the price.

Mount Kinabalu is a must-visit in Sabah. Since it's quite far, it's easier to join a tour group. You can also enjoy paragliding and ATV rides. I bought hay for 2 Malaysian Ringgit to feed the cows. It was a wonderful experience to pick up and drop off cows so close to them for the first time.

I think this is a very worthwhile part of Kota Kinabalu; the fireflies are beautiful, and the tour guide is excellent. Aside from the slightly bumpy ride on the main road, there are no other downsides.

Reviews: Kota Kinabalu Kawa-Kawa River Cruise Proboscis Monkey & Fireflies with Hi-Tea & Dinner Shared Day Tour

Our tour guide, Xiao Chen, was lovely and wonderful! There were more places to eat than we expected, and fresh coconuts were available for purchase. The mountain road was a bit bumpy, but that was unavoidable given the environment. There was also a free farm where we could feed the animals, which were very cute. The staff on the boats to see the monkeys and fireflies were all very cheerful. It was a very worthwhile trip!
