Reviews: Pepper's Choice : Waterfalls, Sulphur Spa & Black Sand Beach
Guest User2026-01-24
Our day in the Commonwealth of Dominica was the highlight of our entire cruise, thanks to Pepper. From start to finish, this excursion was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations. Pepper guided us through the island with genuine warmth, deep knowledge, and a clear passion for sharing Dominica’s beauty. Our first stop was the stunning Emerald Pool, reached by a peaceful hike through the rainforest. The waterfall and cool water made for an unforgettable experience. We then visited a black sand beach, but not before Pepper welcomed us to his Air B&B for an incredible panoramic view of the island. The beach time was relaxing and scenic—exactly what we needed. Lunch at a local mom‑and‑pop restaurant near Trafalgar Falls was delicious, and the owner even picked fresh starfruit from a nearby tree for us to try. It was a thoughtful touch that made the day feel even more personal. Trafalgar Falls was breathtaking, and Pepper shared fascinating details about the area, including the impressive cable car project currently underway—set to become the longest in the world once completed. On the way back, Pepper took us through the Botanical Gardens, where we saw the famous school bus crushed by a fallen tree during the 1979 hurricane—a powerful reminder of the island’s history. From start to finish, Pepper delivered the best excursion of our trip. His hospitality, storytelling, and attention to detail made the day truly special. If you’re visiting Dominica, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Pepper. You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to return—especially once the new international airport is complete.

It was an absolutely lovely day with the tour guide Eden. He organised the hike which was planned very accurately and accordingly to my needs and fitness level so I was able to enjoy the day. Eden was so knowledgeable about the local history and nature. His driving was extremely safe, he took care of my safety during the difficult parts of the hike. He took the time and didn't rush at all so I had the time to take many amazing pictures. He made my hike to Middleham falls rather memorable!!I would highly recommend his service to anyone regardless your age.
Reviews: Dominica: Middleham Falls, Titou Gorge, and Trafalgar Falls…

This excursion was wonderful, exactly what we expected...and communication was beyond what we expected! We were on a cruise and apparently our port had changed due to a festival being held in the downtown. The guide had been monitoring it behind the scenes and notified us of a new meeting point, perfect. As for the day, despite the heavy rain, we loved the hike to Middleham Falls. It was a moderately technical (and wet) hike, but not difficult. Due to recent rain when we arrived to the waterfall, it was roaring. The second waterfall (Trafalgar) was just as spectacular but not nearly the hike middleham was. Unfortunately Titou Gorge and the slot canyon were too dangerous to swim so we got extra time at the hot springs and a quick visit to a spectacular overview of this gorgeous island. Junior was always aware of our surroundings and communicated throughout the trip. Couldn't have asked for a better day or better guide. Thanks Junior!

The hike was perfect! I highly recommend doing it as soon as possible before the cable car opens in 2026! Then the solitude up there will be a thing of the past. The guide was fantastic, just as a guide should be. The pickup at the cruise ship pier was a little late, but still perfectly fine. I was back on the ship in time.
