Lisbon is a beautiful old city full of art and culture with a bohemian twist . It is gritty with its murals and graffiti on many walls.
Its streets are old cobblestones just wide enough for cars because most of the city was levelled in the earthquake of 1750s .
Alfama being the highest point and built on stone escaped the destruction and so today is the oldest in tact neighbourhood in Lisbon, famous for its fado taverns and restaurants .
Lisbon is a walking city, the neighbourhoods are small enough with distinct identities to be discovered on foot, please do yourself a favour and take your time to discover all the little streets and native shops .
Good food is plentiful and not expensive . Better even their wines and ports are outstanding . Do try green wine . The taste is fresh and light , very good for summer .
There is so much discover in Lisbon , to enjoy it spend about 5-6 days at a leisurely pace with side trips .
Sintra is a must visit fairy tale town less than 1 hour by train out of Lisbon .

The tour was unique and very informative and interesting. I appreciated the balance of seeing one of Sintra’s palaces in detail alongside the incredible natural beauty in this area. Our guide David was friendly and warm and answered all of our questions. As a solo traveler, this was a fun way to meet a few other people traveling on their own.

The trip itself is excellent on its own, BUT our driver/tour guide Diogo made it an amazing experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable of Portuguese history and entertaining. The people travelling with us were wonderful too. We would definitely go on another tour with this company.

Hosted by Javi, a very happy experience indeed for the three of us. Including the stops on the coast was a very big plus. Good lunch spot and food.

Benefits and Francisco were excellent host! They provided great insights on the history of Lisbon/Portugal as we sailed past some great landmarks. They offered 3 wine tastings and a delicious charcuterie of cheeses and meets of the region. We finished by sitting on the bow of the “Extra Mile” as she sailed us back into port
