Reviews: Cavedoni Balsamic Vinegar Tour: The Oldest in Modena
Guest User2024-09-24
I loved this tour. Very informative personal tour of a family’s balsamic vinegar stores and an understanding of the beautiful tradition in Modena of starting batterias of vinegar for each family member when they are born and nurturing them through the years. The family are lovely and the food was delicious. A very educational tour about Modena tradition

Both tours were superb. We began with the parma tour. Our personal guide was delightful. We saw how Parmesan cheese was made, including visiting the cows on this self-sustaining farm. While it wasn't grape harvesting season, the balsamic making tour was equally interesting, and seeing and smelling the different barrels age on the top floor gave us a good understanding of the ageing process. During our tastings with different foods our experience was capped off by a visit from the owner!

A truly wonderful visit, befitting this tenor. The kitchen is impressive, and the house is situated in the heart of the countryside. The house is very well maintained.

Our tour was conducted by Teresa (Tess) who was just sensational. The tour is very informative, has highlights such as balsamic tastings, a patisserie stop (coffee/cakes), delicatessan stop for a small lunch box. visit to the mercato and finishes off with two glasses of wine and a gnocco fritto (puff pastry+proscuitto). The tour is GREAT VALUE - do not miss it.

Cecilia was great! She was super friendly and knowledgeable about all of the tour stops. We had a great time on the tour and I’d recommend it to anyone who is considering it!
