Install it using a QR code before leaving the country, and then once you've landed, simply turn on the eSIM and roaming to start communicating.
There's no need to worry about APNs or anything like that.
You're generally connected via 5G, but in reality the connection was often slow, so I changed it to a fixed 4G connection.
eSIMs are so convenient that I'll never go back to using a physical SIM.★

I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.★

Easy to install and the signal quality is quite good, slow loading data only at some spots. In general I‘d really recommend using the eSim as it‘s well functional at a very reasonable price.
